"Room had a slightly unpleasant smell to it. View was excellent. Great location. Breakfast was more than adequate. Spring in mattress had burst through the covering. Limited bathroom products; no shampoo. No hairdryer. Despite these issues I would still return to this hotel. "

"When I say terrible, I am referring to the 4* rating. Reception is poor, they speak Spanish and German, but little English. The rooms are okay, but for me the following are missing:- pool towels, fridge, coffee and tea making facilities. The food (buffet style) is okay, but choice is very limited, and mainly catered for the taste of the large German contingent. The 2 pools were very nice, but there were no mattresses on the hard plastic sunbeds. The entertainment while we were there (last 2 weeks in February) consisted of one man and his guitar 3 evenings a week! (the same guy each time) Overall, I don't know how this hotel got 4* . In my opinion, a 2-3* rating would be more accurate."

"This was my second visit to the Apolo Hotel and again found it very satisfactory. The room was clean and the staff at reception and in the restaurant were extremely helpful and polite. The poolside and the sun terrace were excellent. The transfers to and from the airport were good, although there was a delay on the incoming journey awaiting passengers from other flights. Pick up was right on time."

"Although the public areas of the hotel are clean and modern, the room we were given was very basic:- no bidet, very small single beds, no minibar/fridge and no English channels on t.v. The room cleaning left a lot to be desired as did the courtesy of the staff. The food was O.K. but there wasn't much choice, I would not class this hotel as a 4 Star. The resort itself is good and I would come back here but to a different hotel !"

"Hotel was ok and efficient, The single room was smaller than I would have expected. Housekeeping was great, Food (breakfast) was ok. Staff very friendly Very few staff spoke english. German was the second language, good job I speak german otherwise I think I would have had more problems. Hotel situated very close to the beach and the main shopping centre (Yumbo centre) The hotel guests were predominately on the older side. Would I go back again ........YES"

"hotel staff were largely remote and seemed uninterested in eye contact let alone engaging in conversation. Small point but indicative of detachment when toaster failed and was removed from breakfast we were told on 4 consecutive days "the toaster is broken" No further comment just bluntness. Bread was provided for toasting each morning but no toaster.......was this sureal, incompetant or "who gives a $$$$$$ ? "

"Good location at a good price, quiet, friendly, the room was ok size, largish bathroom, air con was pretty ineffective when hot outside and no fridge. Breakfast was ok, limited choice, gym was pretty basic with 5 cardio machines and nothing else. Didn't use pools. Close to beach and Yumbo centre for evenings. Used primarily by Germans."

"A great way to book a holiday, and a smashing hotel. Clean, quiet and well managed. Lots of Germans - middle aged couples, mainly - but most were pleasant. Pool and sport facilities werer excellent, too. All in all, a great holiday experience."

"The Hotel was good, clean with and a good size room and sea view. The staffs were friendly and efficient. We were staying on a B&B bases which I believe was the best option as there a number of good restaurants down by the beach. "
