"A very pleasant stay. Well kept and clean. Food OK, pool freezing!"

"Pleased with the level of service. A wee bit off the beaten track, but the free coach 3 times a day is a fantastic move.
I have said no for younger people, but have classed this as teen age years. Mainly down to the location.
Overall it was a very smooth holiday with no major problems.
A bit picky possibly, but there was no hot food on the plane coming back. Considering it was an afternoon/teatime flight (17.50pm), there was many hungry mouths to be feed. The sandwiches and toasties lasted about 3 rows ! We were told this was because they were busy on the way out !
Thanks for the opportunity to give some feedback."

"The hotel staff were friendly, the hotel was in a good location, very clean...
i enjoyed my stay there, and would go back to this hotel again in the near future."

"Great complex and food but the rooms were very basic"

"We did not stay in Aquamarina Beach Club Hotel as when we arrived at Faro Airport, out hotel had changed again to Hotel Alisios, back in Albufeira town.
this hotel was excellant, and would revist on our return to Portugal"

"we were very impressed with travel republic's service top class thank you
the hotel was good ,facilities ,food and drink service good.
hotel staff a bit reserved
as a late booking o/o/season the only downside was a lack of kiddies club/entertainment as the kiddies rep contract expired on 30/9/07."

"Very clean accommodation. Grounds beautiful and very well kept. A bit off the beaten track but if you are looking for a relaxing holiday it is very good."

"The Aquamarina reception was closed and so we had to go .to the Adriana next door to book in, couldn'book in untill 2pm .Told breakfast would be at the Adriana, we were located in block Z so had to walk thru the whole length of the 2 sites for breakfast.
Hotel is geared for ALL INCLUSIVE we were only B&B hence a small glass of lemonade and a small beer (less than 200mls) we were charged £4
The reception staff appear to be anti British very pro German - once British guest was told "british zero class" when they reported a hair brush missing from their room , when told how much they had paid to go there the response was "germans pay more"
Some gusts experienced problems with ants IN THE BEDS
The beach at the hotel has no beach bars or any where to get a drink, again a sign that it is geared for ALL INCLUSIVE but even they have to climb some serious steps and a walk to get back to the hotel bars.
Finally the hotel is a LONGWAY outside of the town centre, a taxi ride to town is £10 EACHWAY so if B&B you need a car, they do provide 4 buses into town but the last one returns at 8pm
Facilities at the Adriana are very good and better than the Aquamarina, bigger pool and pool area amonst other things.
Cant really rate the Aquamarina as 4 star - room had no hair dryer, beds had plastic panels under the sheets, and were never made properly, wardrobe door missing, one bedside light had no bulb etc
For what we paid it was good value, but as I say you do need a car if going B&B
Dont think we would go back to that hotel, nothing on the beach, too far from town"

"Nice hotel, very clean with enjoyable food and lots of amenities such as sauna, lovely swimming pools etc. but located in a very secluded area. Not enough night time entertainment. Courtesy bus runs 4 times a day, but last one back 8.00pm.
Also steps to beach very, very steep wooden ones on a sheer cliff face. Very long walk along beach to Vilamoura - about 50 minutes!!"

"I was impressed with the standards at the hotel and the facilities available. The breakfast was a bit of a free for all but I put this down to it being an all inclusive hotel. I had to hire a car on the first day because the Hotel was so far out of town for either Albufiera and Villamoura. The steps to the beach were too daunting to try but there is much easier access from a track which runs alongside the hotel.
The transfer from airport to resort both ways was the worst part of the trip - over an hour and a half wait on arrival and a two hour journey on departure on what is only a 30 minute trip."

"upon our arrival at the Aquamarina we were met with surly reception staff. Our room wasn't ready which was not a problem as we were early. Howe4ver, when we went to look at the location of the room we discovered it was in a block over the public toilets and over the air conditioning unit!! very noisy. We were told by the surly receptionist that there was no other rooms only on the other side of the road. When we checked the block was very neglected and very much away from the complex, We had to complain and stand our ground to get moved. The rooms are roomy and with large bathrooms, however the beds are hard and the standard is nowhere near 4*. The food is very repetitive and agin not 4*. We stuck it for 2 days and then had to eat out for fear of fading away!!again we complained and the manager Sarah was most helpful and allowed us to change and eat at the adjoining hotel which was 4* but far superior. All was ok then until we became infested with ants in the room! Expected abroad yes, but not in the suitcases and clothes when we woke up!!
The hotel is remote and if you need to go out it is expensive in taxi fares. do not go expectaing 4* the Aquamarina is barely 2* We would not return"

"Excellent hotel for families, with facilities to suit.Lovely pool, fantastic coastline nearby."

"I have booked through Travel Republic on many occasions over the past five years and could not fault my choices, however , this was an exception. Anyone with walking difficulties should not book as you have to walk up or down to the three restauants on site. The food was dfinately not 4* more like 2/3*. To eat in the better of the three restaurants you have to pay a further 5 euros which I found very upsetting as I had paid for all inclusive. The hotel and rooms were clean but there was no balcony/terrace to sit out in the room so you had to walk to the swimming area, where I have to say, you could not even get a bed!! The staff were very surly and not very helpful. All in all I did not enjoy the experience and will not be returning to this particular hotel."

"Could not fault it at all. Was very pleasantly surprised that 4 star was exactly that.
Superb throughout. The pool is huge and looks the part. Food was great and the drinks too! This resort looked particualrly good for families and was very child friendly. We didn't take any kids but the facilities for them, were exceptional- keeping them out of your hair, whilst you replax! The steam room, sauna and jaquzzi were particuarly good for relaxation.
All in all for me and my partner 5/5"

"The Hotel was lovely and clean and the gardens it was set in were well maintained. The beach was close by and access to it was easy and the steps quoted in other reviews weren't as bad as described! The beach was stunning with a lovlely breeze to sunbathe in and not get too hot.
Back to the hotel- the all inclusive deal was not great at all. There was limited choice and the tables were often full or dirty and not cleared quickly enough after a sitting. The food was repetative- bolognese EVERYDAY and there was only one other fish option and one meat option. even the potatoes and salad to accompany the meal were the same every day- CHIP, CHIPS and more CHIPS. The deserts and icecream were nice though.
The drinks were also limited and beer was served in a glass smaller than a half pint glass, so you would need many trips to the bar as it was consumed in three mouthfuls.
The only good thing the hotel did out on was a free bus to Vilamoura every night at 7.30 pm if you needed to get a decent meal every so often!!
Taxis to the neighbouring Albufeira were around 15 Euros and well worth a visit- great places to eat and entertainment everywhere. The 'old' town is much nicer.
All in all the hotel is awful and to make matters worse it is next to a hotel within the same complex, whose facilities you can use..it is really big and has better evening entertainment, pool etc, however you cannot use their restaurants!
The foods though is the same in Aquamarina but more of it!
Do not do 2 week all inclusive deal to this hotel. A week is ok. it is definately not 4*, I've stayed in far better 3 *!!"

"a very nice hotel nice views overlooking the beach, helpful and polite staff, enjoyable entertainment"

"Courtesy bus to and from Albufeira could have been more frequent."
