sandra from bushmills reviewed the Aramis Hotel
"this hotel really is good value for money, the hotel rooms were very clean and of a good size. plenty to pick from at breakfast best to go down late cos if you are early its very busy. hotel bar closes at 11 didnt have any atmosphere and is of average price small beer 45czk, mini bar in room is of average price too. ate in the hotel the first nite it was ok and there was a 10% service charge. found a cheap cafe about 5mins from the hotel much better value for food. the area around the hotel looks a bit rough and run down but we didnt have any trouble. the hotel is a bit far to walk into the town its about 45mins, bus stop 5min from the hotel, but we used taxis 350czk into the town &700czk to the airport. aramis hotel is by far the best hotel in this area as it was well kept inside and out. only down point it doesnt have a shower only has a bath with a telephone shower head but no wall mount."
Top Tip:
"if u go 2 streets down from the hotel and turn right and cross the road and walk for about 5-10 mins there is a really good cafe. it doent look like much from the out side it has a bamboo front and photos of ping pong tables & pool tables on the wall it looks a bit rough from the out site. its so... cheap and really good food big portions and the drink is cheap too. pizza 69 czk, chips 25ckz, pasta 99czk, water 20czk & small beer 20czk, vodka & white 75czk.
caffertys irish bar in the old town sq is good food and not too expensive. dont eat in the center of the sq we got 4 burgers, 4chips, 4 sm bottles of water with a 15% service charge it was about £65-£70 and it wasnt that nice we were ripped off for the good view. the sm bottle of water was 120czk thats about £4.50 in pounds. one of the best trips that we went on was the boat trip it was 500czk and u were picked up from ur hotel and droped off in the old town sq u also get a free soft drink and cake. the horse and cart trip around the old town sq was really nice and cost 800czk for 4 people. my top tip is take plenty of money as there is nothing cheap about prague its a really nice place but way too expensive."
"Although some distance from the centre of Prague, the Aramis we found the Aramis to be an good hotel, with friendly staff, good facilities and an excellent restaurant."
Top Tip:
"I would make sure that you buy a ticket for the highly efficient integrated transport system (Metro- Tram - bus) to cover the period of your stay. Buy the tickets preferably at a Tourist Info.Office if you want a ticket for more than a 24 hr period, as it may not be available at the other ticket outlets - newsagents etc."
