"We stayed at the Arcadia Hotel. The hotel was fantastic. It is certainly out of the way a bit but it is far cheaper than most in a better location. The rooms were big, very very clean and the cleaners were there every single day we stayed there with fresh towels and to make the bed. The mini-bar was very cheap for a mixture of beer, water and soft drinks. The room had a good TV in it and everything worked perfectly well.Breakfast was a mixture of cereal, rolls, cheese, ham, toast and jams and cracking hot Italian coffee or Tea. There was also a variety of fruit juices to drink as well. It was a case of eat as much as you want! The hotel reception were very very helpful indeed. They spoke good english and the hotel runs a courtesy bus to two local restaurants if you arrive too late to travel in to the centre of Rome for an evening meal. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you directly to the local Metro (underground). If you get the bus (the 507)from outside the hotel, make sure you don't take the bus that says "via" on it as this takes you away on a long detour before ending up at the Metro. The one that doesn't say "via" on it takes you directly there with a few stops on the way in under 15 mins. Once you get to the Metro (there is only one Metro line that takes you to the centre of Rome), it is very straight forward to get in to the centre of Rome - it takes 30 mins to the Vatican stop from the Metro near your hotel. We found the best way to travel was to buy a 1 euro pass from your hotel reception. This is valid for 75 mins from the time you activate it.You don't need to use it on the bus to the Metro as the drivers never ask for it but you will need to use it to gain entry in to the Metro and it then lasts 75 mins - plenty of time to go to the centre of Rome and further if you wish. At the start of the day we bought two 1 Euro passes and this did us to and from the centre of Rome. We carried the 2nd one about until we needed to use it and then activated it. If you needed a lift from the Metro to the hotel, you could phone the hotel and the courtesy bus would come and collect you too. Excellent service. I recommend this hotel completely. Great value and excellent service."

"the hotel was perfectly fine for the ammount of money that it cost. It was clean and the staff were very helpful, but as other comments made, the walls were very thin!"
