The hotel was excellent, clean, polite staff and good facilities. No kids which suited us perfectly. We are in our late twenties and were by far the youngest people there however this didnt matter as all of the guests seemed very friendly and we spent much of our time out seeing the sites and on the beach. The only bad thing was the price of the drinks in the hotel at dinner and at the hotel bars which were 4 to 5 times more expensive than in the bars on the main road.

Top Tip The excursions are a good idea however we found that the best archiological site on the whole island was on our doorstep in the Pahos harbour area with lots of fully intact mosaic floors and a complete amphitheatre. My only other tip would be not to go in November due to the rain - I think October is the best comprimise as its not peak season but the weather is still great.

If your looking for a totally relaxing time on holiday then this hotel is for you , plenty of sunbeds by the pools or in the garden area or on the beach. As this hotel is an adults hotel (17 years+) there wasn't any screaming and hollering coming from the pools, in fact I think the busiest the pool got was when there was about six people in it.The food was of a decent level but I did feel a little rushed by the waiters on some occasions at evening meal time. The room was fine if a little small but the shower was great (just what you want after a hard days sunbathing). I didn't think much of the evening entertainment but with the harbour just a short taxi trip away it wasn't that much of a problem

Top Tip Very nice Mexican and Chinese restaurants , can't remember their names but they were up a flight of steps above a pub called the white horse almost opposite the sister hotel (Athena beach Hotel)

An outstanding hotel creating a restful environment for the stay.

Top Tip Using the buses or walking along the pleasant beach path into town, will help you avoid the numerous time share sellers.

Hotel was clean and tidy.It is ideally suited for retired couples. It lacked atmoshere, the food was average at best, the entertainment was very poor.
We had a room with a view of the wasteland beside the hotel but we could see the water from the corner of the balcony.
There was no music anywhere during the day,not by the pool or on the terrace. A little background music would definitely helped.
This hotel is definitely suited for the over 65s
Most of the Staff were friendly and courteous.

Hotel is fantastic and staff are wonderfully friendly. More suitable for older people.

Top Tip Turn right out of the hotel and head away from Paphos centre - some fantastic newer restaurants within 1 km. Also try Hondros Taverna by the harbour - fantastic food.

This hotel fully lived up to what other people have said. Relatively small and quiet, it does things effortlessly. Compared to hotels in Tenerife, check-in took less than 5 minutes. The staff were uniformly friendly and exceptionally helpful. Service was excellent and the food was varied and of a very high quality. My wife and I are in our mid-50's and we were amongst the youngest guests. One of the many advantages of this was that there was never a rush for sunbeds!! We love our children and grandchild, but the fact that the hotel was for for people aged 16+ did make for a very quiet and relaxing holiday. We will definitely be returning to the Athena Royal.

Top Tip The world heritage centre in Paphos is a real must see and is easily walkable from the hotel, particularly along the beach path.

My husband & I have travelled extensively & the Athena Royal is one of the best Hotels we have used. We always have Bed & Breakfast which in this case was a great choice - we did have an evening meal in the Hotel which was also excellent quality. The hotel staff were very friendly & the faclities incl. Bowling / Putting / indoor pool help if weather is not good.
We would certainly stay at this Hotel again & recommend to friends

Top Tip Good Italian Restaurant - 200 m from Hotel - Cavellini ( not sure of spelling ) + French one next to this
