BRIAN from NORTHALLERTON reviewed the Avenida Hotel
"Hotel was very clean and meals were excellent. Located close to beach, old town and shopping area. We chose the Hotel Avenida by selecting it from an independant review site prior to booking. We did not find noise from the streets a problem at all (never noticed any noise until the last night prior to our return to the UK). Our experience matches the positive reviews. We were initially given a room without a balcony, although we moved to a room with a balcony on the third day of seven. This is the third time we have booked a holiday via Travel Republic and we would highly reccomend anybody to use them"
Barbara from Nottingham reviewed the Avenida Hotel
"i thought the hotel was way under what we were expecting. there was no fridge in our room, there was only one small swimming pool outside with no shaded areas, dinner was at 8:00pm which was far to late for children and the cooked food wasn't at a 4 star standard. i would have preferred to have a buffet i lost a lot of weight because i was not able to eat the cooked food. to be honest i thought the hotel was the same standard as the last 3 star hotel we went to and even then we had a fridge in our room and there was also two swimming pools.

"if u go down to the main road next to the beach and turn right, follow the road right up and you will find the most beautiful church and little cafes and shops which is a great way to spend your day if you are the explorer type! my children also loved going to the "PINOCCHIO" for it's variety delicious ice cream."
"I have stayed in the Don Pancho, The Best Western Victoria Hotel and the Avenida Hotel in Benidorm. I have to say, for us, the Avenida was the best. The location, size of rooms, balcony, staff, and food were all fantastic. Will definitely book again next year (if I can afford it - my daughter is getting married in February!!!!)."

"Didn't sample the restaurants - the food in hotel was so good, didn't need to. The beach was very closeby. Although we are not beach people, the promenade is a pleasure to walk along and is completely flat. As I have rheumatoid arthritis and my husband has CPD (breathing problems), it was absolutely perfect for us."
PATRICIA from LIVERPOOL reviewed the Avenida Hotel
"The hotel was lovely and the food was excellent. The staff could not be more helpful and polite.
However, the rooms let the hotel down, the one I stayed in was too noisy as there was no double glazing to reduce the outside noise. They could do with being refurbished.
I would return to the hotel but would request a quiet room."

"The hotel is in the old town which has soom lovely bars and restaurants.
I am glad we stayed there, we did go to the new town for a couple of nights, but were glad to return to the tapas bars and local people."
Susan from East Stanley reviewed the Avenida Hotel
"Having visited Benidorm 13 years ago and hated it we were persuaded to give it another try! With its ideal situation staying at the Hotel Avenida has shown us what a holiday in Benidorm can really be like with the added bonus of lovely food, great accommodation & of course cleanliness & lovely staff. Hotel Avenida has the added plus with its position surrounded by some of the most gorgeous shops, bars & restaurants & of course the beach. "

"It was our first time in Benidorm. Would definately go back to the Avenida Hotel. Room was spotless service was excellent very friendly hotel. 10 out of 10 "
"The room we were allocated did not have a balcony. I requested a move, (we had stayed at this hotel previously) and although the hotel was full, we were moved the following day. The restaurant staff were also were helpful and friendly"

"Excellent location, 1 block from beach, in Old Town, close to entertainment but not noisy - in November!"
"for excellent typical local restaurant offering great Tapas and seafood try LA ROSITA which can be found 100 metres to the left on the promenade after walking to the beach from the hotel.Lunch time special try 1 tapa and 1 glass of wine/beer for 1 Euro!!!!!!"
Robert Morrison from Oldham reviewed the Avenida Hotel
"I think that the food could have been improved on, although there was plenty of choice and the service was good. Although nothing the hotel could do about it, the noise from ouside at night, (road sweepers, trash collections etc) was quite horrendous. Having said all this, I would go again to this hotel, but making sure that I had a room with a balcony (when we arrived, we were told that we had booked a basic room, although we had paid the most for a double room and naturally, expected a balcony.) MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A BALCONY WHEN YOU BOOK otherwise you will be looking into a wall, from a window. Great hotel though and good service.

"Very clean and well run.
Food choice slightly limited but I presume this is due to the fact that tehy have to split the menu between lunch and evening meals as the hotel does full board.
Due to the shape of the hotel some of the rooms have windows which are overlooked by 2 others which means you need to keep your curtains closed for privacy."
"Asked for balcony/terrace when booking as my friend smokes. Were told on arrival
no rooms with any available till Tues which meant swapping 1/2 way through the holiday. The pool is not in best of location on the roof as is shaded in the afternoon.

"Location is good, very central for old town. Not a lively hotel so nice for short and quiet breaks."
"The hotel rooms where not 4star but an above average 3star. We had requested a room with a sea view and a balcony, but on arrival we where given a room on the top floor with no balcony. However the hotel staff where very accommodating and explained that these rooms where already taken but one would be available the next day. We where moved to our delight to the 3rd floor which overlooked the square and it was nice to sit in the evening and watch the night entertainment before going out.
The hotel location could not be better with all the amenities within a few minutes walk.
The food is what I would expect in feeding the masses and the choice was a bit hap-hazard with lamb most nights. you could end up with lamb-chicken wings-seafood platter on one plate with chips. The breakfast on the other hand was better with a choice of continental or full English. We found some very good Tapas bars in the old district and cost can vary so best check before eating out.
The waiters where very friendly and accommodating to our needs. the hotel does provide night-time entertainment and is varied each night, it seems to suit the over fifties more with a good variety of line dancing but we enjoyed having a jive.
Professional entertainer's break the week with some very good shows.
On the down side to the hotel do not expect a drink after 1 o'clock as everyone closes up shop very quickly and there is no night porter available but maybe thats not a bad thing.
We will come back to this hotel because of its friendliness and location."
Top Tip:
"If you want a great cup of tea and some very good home cooking turn right as you exit the hotel and follow the road to the tee junction at the end of the avenue, look across for Robins Nest."
