"This is the second year we have stayed at the Hotel Balcon De Europa and have no problem in recommending the hotel. We wanted bed and breakfast only as there are numerous good value restaurants aound the hotel. Our Junior Suite was very spacious and overlooked the sea. One minor dislike is that the hotel charges €3.50 per day for a sunbed on the beach."

"The hotel has a great position built in to the cliff & overlooking the beach. We could hear the waves from our room which was lovely. The hotel staff were friendly & efficient & there was a good ambience in the hotel. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel as there are many restaurants close-by (within a 5 min walk) & this was a good decision. Its not expensive to eat out. Those who did eat there said that the food wasn't brilliant. Breakfast was fine however & there is a wide choice available."

"The Hotel is very nice, however, could do with a lick of paint now. The decor has not changed in the 5 years we have been visiting nor have the menus in the restaurants. New mattresses on the beds are definately required."

"having stayed in a standard room previously the junior suite of this vist was well worth the extra cost.the bathroom was well appointed and the room very well kept,be aware though that a charge for the fridge and safe are extra.the breakfast was reasonable but we heard dinner was dissapointing,did not try myself. staff seemed pleasant enough.in general a pleasant stay."

"The hotel is situated in a great position in the middle of town. The accommodation was good and as expected. The pool is quite small about 10 strokes from end to end and is more of a plunge pool. Most guests were quite elderly."

"We liked the east Nerja beaches best ,Playa de Burriana, about 15 minute walk from the hotel. Free parking near the Balcon de Europa hotel and beaches is in the car park at the end of Prolong Carabeo. Do not use the municipal car park at 15 Euro/day. A visit to Nerja caves is a must. "The accommodation was good for a 4 star hotel, as was the buffet breakfast. I had paid for half-board but the food at dinner time was so awful I ate out for the last three dinners."

"Location, Hotel, Service, Food and cleanliness were good. IVA (VAT) is charged on all goods, and services, so your final bill will be 7% higher than the advertised prices lead your to believe."

" We stayed in a junior suite, balcony overlooking sea, very nice, spacious room, clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, did not have dinner. Bathroom could do with some updating also I would have expected tea/coffee making facilities in a superior room. Nice bar and reception area, good for a quiet uncommercialised Xmas, excellent position in Nerja, sea one side, town and all amenities on the other. Would go back, not in summer as limited sunbathing space and small pool. "
