L from Lockerbie reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"i wuz totally amazed , out hotel wuz amazing
very clean , the maids were in every day nd we had clean sheets nd towels. Very well equipped kitchen for self catering purposes , nd also a huge balcony . The only thing that let the complex down wuz a small pool ns a fight for a bed everyday .
Apart fae that it wuz exellent. :)"
Top Tip:
"There wuz a great chinese buffet restaruant in peurto rico which wuz exellent value nd very gud."
DEREK from CHELTENHAM reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"The food is terrible so book self-catering.
The hotel is built into a hillside/cliff and the road to the apartments is very steep so is not suitable for disabled of elderly.
Beware of any notices in the hotel - nearly all of them are incorrect regarding times etc.
"
Top Tip:
"The 'beach' is like a gravel car park so go round the corner to Anfi for a good beach or catch the bus. "
Christina from EAST KILBRIDE reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"I booked this apartment for my son and his friend and the accommodation was suitable for their age group, 18 and 16, although I don't know what it would have been like having four people staying there. A bit cramped for clothing storage! One major downside would be the lack of air conditioning, the boys were up in the middle of the night showering in cold water to keep cool. That said, I feel that it was very good value for money for the time of year and not too far from the busy centre of Puerto Rico, just over 3 Euros in a taxi. The was work going on around the pool area to upgrade the area but once this is complete it should be a nice area to sunbathe. Views over the Atlantic were great. "
Top Tip:
"The beach at Anfi and also at Amadores were great - imported white sand and not the usual dirty coloured natural sand of the island. Great food to be found at the Palm Garden Restaurant in Patalavaca, all fresh and cooked to order - nothing pre-prepared. It is off the main road but well worth a visit, just ask the taxi driver to take you to Avd Los Guaires 13, Terraza Canaria. The Manager, Rainer, will make you very welcome."
Angela from Doncaster reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"Have been to Balito Beach many times before - everything you could want for a quiet laid-back holiday (Usually) - just our misfortune that the last few days was a spanish bank-holiday and we were inundated with new arrivals, in the main, children, who kept jumping into the pool so we were unable to swim. Not a problem, we just went to the lovely beach of Patalavaka for the day.
Simple accomodation, but everything you could need."
Top Tip:
"Patalavaka beach
Valentino restaurant on the beach complex
Anno Domini restaurant in San Agustin"
Christine from Belfast reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"This was my friend and my third time at Balito Beach and we really enjoyed the location and the service provided by the staff. We were happy enough to eat at the restaurant most nights and the shop was handy for any other requirements we had."
gilles from salford reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"Very clean, well equipped (kettle, microwave, toaster...), nice, good sized apartment. Frequent buses in front of the apartments but buses were a bit confusing: we didn't know which one to take as it was not clearly indicated. Timetable needed."
Paul from Aylesbury reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"Balito Beach is a well hidden secret / ideally placed / full facilities at a remarkable price / stayed many times before / all the staff at Balito are excellent. What more can I say."
Top Tip:
"For friendly local service try a small restaurant called La Boudegillia in Patalavaca the food is fresh and renowned locally."
Dennis from Milton Keynes reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"had one coachroach in my room, but have to say the room was spotless,
good choice for a buget stay, nice and quite, but close to the action for those who want it, peurto rico is E 1.20 by bus or about 4 euros by taxi.
but be warned ! there are not only lots of steps and a hill too."
M from TYNE AND WEAR reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"Second time in four years to Balito Beach complex in Gran Canaria. Apartment met our holiday needs as a base and had fabulous outlook over Atlantic. Staff were exceptional."
Top Tip:
"Five minutes walk from Balito complex, is the fabulous Anfi beach, part of the Anfi Del-A-Mar complex, with white sand imported from the sahara."
John from Uttoxeter reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"The complex was reasonable with good pool and sunbeds etc. The main restaurant was closed for the season leaving only the poolside bar / cafe for limited variety of food, none that we found very good. You have to be fit and able bodied to stay here with the complex spread over several levels with road slopes and many steps to deal with.
Ckleanliness and servicing of the apartment were excellent (except the ever present cockroaches). It is only a 10 minute walk (through a construction zone) to Anfi where thay are better time-share tuned facilities outside of their complexes. Pedestrian access to Peurto Rico is a no-no but a cheap taxi ride away.
The biggest dissapointment was the last day when there was a huge influx of scandinavians (which overloaded the poolside facilities) but which also inspired the complex to literally treble the size of it's menu with a selection of fresh meat and fish dishes hitherto unseen. It's basic, clean and hard to negotiate - otherwise OK. I would not have given it 3 stars personally."
Top Tip:
"Use the foothpath across the bomb site that is Balito beach and on to Anfi. Continuous pedestrian access all the way to Arguiniguin, good restaurants, bars and shopping along the way. Use the ferry from Anfi to see Arguiniguin, Peurto Rico and Puerto Magon - well worth the €14 per person round trip."
melissa from evesham reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"only consider this location if you are related to mountain goats.
The accommodation was very warm-even with front and back doors opened.
Where was the beach?"
f from merseyside reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"We have stayed at Balito Beach a few times and always enjoyed it. However, it is not for those with walking difficulties as some parts are rather steep."
Colin from Poole reviewed the Balito Beach Apartments
"Good apt. Very clean Very friendly people, Excellent swimming pool.
Mostly German and scandinavian people, hardly any English which meant the nights were quiet, So good for us."
Top Tip:
"Anfi beach is wonderful about 15 mins walk. Easy bus route to Puerto Rico if you want noise, burger bars etc. Yuk we only went there once."
