"If you have a young family then this is the place for you. Sandy beach, lots of shops and restuarants. a good trip out is to Oasis Park.
We were self catering but they do half and full board and you can upgrade to all inclusive.
Weather is hot all the time and there is allways a nice breeze.
If you are a fisherman then there is a lot of fishing to be had.
All in all I would throughly recommend this place"

"This was the third time we've stopped at the Barcello and this time we were All Inclusive. Can't fault it! It is clean, well organised; the staff from hotel, bar, reception, housekeeping are all courteous, efficient and friendly; the food at all meals was varied, well cooked and well presented; the facliities are excellant, pools, bars, restaurant; the location is perfect, ten minutes walk to Caleta Beach and fifteen minutes to the main town. The arrangements made by Travel Republic all went very well and their associates over there are all very helpful and efficient (we used the taxi transfer service). We don't hesitate recommending it. We are in our sixties and our son is late thirties. We all had a thoroughly good holiday and we shall be visiting the Barcello again without doubt."
Top Tip:
"Although there is a good free bus service to the Atlantico Shopping Centre, we found it easier to use a taxi. It cost about 3 euros and was much quicker."

"It is apparent that upgrading is taking place, unfortunately we were not placed in one that had been recently updated.
The sun loungers needed replacing, other than that not too bad."

"The bungalow was clean and tidy upon arrival and was attended regularly by the maids. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English. The food was plentiful and varied and well presented and the restaurant staff were also friendly. The swimming pools and surrounding areas were clean and spacious. Half way through our holiday, we were already planning the next one!

"The hotel reception was quite a walk as they were renovating a whole tranch of bungalos. there was no offer of help or any indications of any trolles etc. the maid service was not up to what we are used too and we did leave our comments on this at the time. the positives of the place were that they did honour our booking request of afternoon sun and the place was superbly placed for the beach and town. We would revisit the resort and hopefully all building work would be finished."

"Self catering - excellent accommodation. Did not use hotel facilities other than excellent pool area, but everything else looked impressive, clean,airy, almost luxurious. Staff very helpful and courteous."

"Fabulous up market restaurant - part of Hotel Elba, called La Barca del Pescador. Much better food, ambience and service, yet no more expensive than any in town."

"The hotel is rated as 'comfort' by Barcelo but offers a much higher standard. 'All inclusive' is very good value - staff were helpful."
Top Tip:
"We hired a car but found out that there is an excellent FREE bus service that takes you to the main towns and collects/drops off outside reception . Not much to do/see on the rest of the island."

"Electricity failed twice but was switched on quite quickly. Cold water supply failed once which wasn't pleasant as I was under the shower at the time - nearly boiled alive. Cleaners didn't clean our bungalow every day. Food was very bland and similar day after day (half board basis). Stray cats followed us all over the resort and often 'appeared' inside the bungalow which gave us something of a shock. Pools were wonderful, all eternity, and the sunbeds were tidied every night which added to the asthetics of the resort. Staff very friendly."

"Very pleased with every think. It’s the first time I have booked over the Internet and was very pleased with the flight and hotel. Not being a brown nose but the website is very easy to use and gives you plenty of options if your on a budget."

"If I stayed at the same hotel again I would do my own transfers from the airport to the hotel, as it is very near and works out a lot cheaper."

"We had heard that if you treat the staff nicely, then they are really helpful. When we got there i asked them if we had a nice room and the very nice lady on reception said that there was another room available if we didn't like the one we had been allocated. When we checked out the apartment- one of the 2000 block, it was very mouldy smelling and felt damp. We went back and asked to see the other one, which was a 1000 bungalow across the road- which was really lovely. So we went back to reception and thanked them very much and took the bungalow!
The maid service was good, fresh fluffy towels every day,the facilities at the complex were great and they were always very helpful ( as long as you were very nice to them!)
We even got a xmas card and bottle of Cava delivered to our bungalow on xmas day!
Can't comment on the restaurants as we were self catering and didn't use them, but the pools etc were lovely and the place was pretty empty. The communal areas, pools etc are impeccably kept and we had to keep checking that all the pools were for our use. Great safe complex for our 2 teenage boys to wander around on.
By far the new recondtioned 3000 block bungalows are the best, followed by the 1000 bungalows. The 2000 apartment block seems to be a bit hit and miss, some are apparently ok, others quite dingy and cockroach infested.
We had a few cockroaches, but bought some bug spray on the first day and it worked great.
Good idea to hire a safe deposit box when you get there.
The internet access is really expensive in the hotel, it is much cheaper to go to the arcade opposite Pieros to check your email, or use the computers by the bowling alley at the Atlantico"
Top Tip:
"Best bar: Piero's music cafe. Ideal for all the family and the entertainment is good. Go to the Marlin restaurant for English breakfasts, we got one breakfast out of our 4 free everytime and they were reasonably priced. Best restaurants for evening meals were the mexican corner ( massive T bone steaks!) Fado Rock Cafe ( fantastic variety and great service) Go to the Slowboat for great Chinese food ( avoid the buffet further up the road!!)
El Patio has good food, but we had a very rude waiter.
Supermarket wise- go to the Spar at the Atlantico Centre for the cheapest and biggest selection of food. You can get a taxi back to your hotel for a few euros and you'll save more than that on the food.
The beach is lovely, but wear sandals in the sea as it is very stony."

"The beach that was just down from the bungalows was fantastic as it was not to busy and it was set out great and 2 mins from the water sports great great great.
also the pubs and resturants were so friend even though we were all adults that went there was loads for kids to do as well, when we go back we will be bringing the kids with us."
