"This was the second time at the Barcelo Fueteventura. We stayed All Inclusive
for a fortnight and found the hotel to be very good. Rooms are large and comfortable.
Food is excellent both in quality and choice. All inclusive drinks include draft & bottled
San Miguel and branded spirits such as Smirnoff Vodka etc. The hotel has 2 large pools plus a childrens pool and plenty of sunbeds. Staff are in general very helpful and
friendly. The hotel is located next to the beach and a short walk from the harbour. There are also a good selection of bars & restaurants close by. All in all a excellent choice for a relaxing holiday in the sun."

"Tip the waiters if you are all inclusive to ensure quicker service!"

"Firstly, we stayed for one week and the hotel, entertainment staff, food, and the majority of hotel staff were excellent and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It was "one" of the best hotels we have stayed in.
Any further comments are not meant to sound negative but informative.
Plus points.
Entertainment was brilliant! A mixture of entertainment by outside professianal and inhouse entertainment by the entertainment staff (although it was hard to tell who were the outside professionals, the entertainment staff were that good). Firstly for half an hour from 8.30 - 9.00pm there was the mini disco (also managed by the entertainment staff). Then there followed the adult/child entertainment (I say that because both ourselves and our 4 year old daughter enjoyed the stage shows as much as each other).
Shows included:-
By outside entertainment - African Dancers, Souls singers, Flamenco Dancers, Parrot Show etc.
By entertainment staff -
Starlight Express, Lion King, Grease, Phantom of the Opera etc
My 4 year old daughters favourite was Starlight Express (which they had 3 days to prepare for and were skating around the stage and down 45 degree ramps like proffessionals) and mine (44) was lion king?
The stage shows are performed in a purpose built theatre with rows of seats with a table every 2-3 seats for your drinks, and then rising every 2-3 rows so every one can see. Waiter service is provided if you want to wait, but I preferred to go to the bar myself, as it was considerably quicker!
I didn't meet the guy who makes the stage sets, but saw him working tirelessly every day to make the sets armed with boards, spray paints and other materials and the end results were superb.
In long, the entertainment was the best I have seen in a family hotel!
The restaurant and food was very good. I have often seen people criticise buffet food, but this was "very" good. Yes, after eating buffet for a week it can "seem" a little repetetive but the standard here was hard to criticise.
Negative points:-
The restaurant staff were - some excellent and some could do with a smile lesson. But after watching them for a week, they work very fast and tirelessly to give you what you want and sometimes get very little reward as a lot of people are "all inclusive" and do not feel the need to leave tips. I DIAGREE. I left a small tip every time I left the dining room and I think that it shocked the staff to see an "all inclusive" guest to leave a tip, and were much nicer to me next time!
Special mention to (Silly) Billy, Entertainment leader (but also very proffesianal) Katrin (Mini Club leader) and all the other entertainment staff, who were all absolutely fantastic.

"Beyond the Marina, take the pathed walkway next to the rocks and sea, and feed the chipmunks who will take nuts from your hands.
Some excellent restaurants if you fancy a change from the buffet.
Took a car for two days out of seven, thats enough. I won't recommend where to go because I don't know what you like (buy a book), but don't go to La Olivia Art Centre because when we got there, I was told "it is closed - for the year"?

"Excellent location right on the beach - great for young children.
Restaurant is buffet style and while there is a good selection to suit all tastes it doesn't vary much from day to day. Drinks in the restaurant are a little pricey but there is a fridge in each room and a good supermarket within a 5 min drive. (unless you want a "bucket and spade" holiday with young children you will need a car as the resort is quite small - there are some fantastic beaches and watersports within a 30 min drive)
Hotel was clean and staff friendly. The heated pool was great - we didn't see anyone in the non heated pool! Plenty of sunloungers around the pool area for those who want to sunbathe. The "gym" was very disapointing - equipment was old and non functional in some cases.

Top Tip:
"great coffee shop serving illy coffee just round the corner from the hotel - also serves great pizzas and ice-cream.
Follow the coast past the lighthouse and there are loads of chipmunks on the rocky shore.
Drive 30 min north towards Corralejo for some great kite surfing.
Head south towards Jandia for a fantastic beach at Playa de Sotavento de jandia."

"A fantastic hotel situated right on the beach with 2 large swimming pools and a baby pool with adequate sun loungers.
Stayed half-board and the food was excellent, the restaurant clean and accommodated children well.
The hotel staff were extremely helpful and attentive and helped make this holiday superb for all the family.
I would definitely recommend the Hotel Barcelo Fuerteventura to anyone as caters for families, couples and older people."

"A lovely coastal path which was great for walks with a buggy
A Saturday market with an African influence in the same street as the Tourist Info office."

"Completely relaxing, extremely friendly and helpful staff with lots of activities all day every day in the hotel. The food was better in the secound half of the week a bit more choice for anyone who maybe a bit picky, but, lots of variety so something for everyone. Great for kids, lots for them to do and the kids club was great. Im looking at Barcelo hotels in different places because theyve set a standard that we're more than happy with and theres so many to choose from. I loved it and the town was pretty too and only 10 or 15 minutes from the airport which was great."

"There were problems with the drains which affected one of the swimming pool for 2/3 days.
Went all inclusive and pleased that we did although wines were very limited. "

"Twins 4ft beds rather than the usual 3ft, much more comfortable. Also fitted bottom sheet and duvet cover, however, these are probably designed to fit 3ft beds so the bottom sheet did occasionaly slip off one of the corners. Room and bathroom good size as was the balconey. Very interesting design to the hotel, not your standard box. Good location, throw stones on to the beach.
I went for peace and quiet (Dec 2007) and got it."

"excellent hotel. Very clean, beautiful pools and great food. We went all inclusive and we didnt regret it. The kids club was fantastic, really good hotel if you have children. The entertainment at night was pretty good too. We are not easy to please and this hotel ticked all our boxes. The only slight niggle was that the bar service was pretty slow. However the positives far outweighed the negatives. We will definately return. "
