"HAVING STAYED AT MANY HOTELS IN LANZAROTE THIS HAS PROBABLY GOT TO BE THE WORST. THE BAR AREAS WERE MORE LIKE WAITING ROOMS THE SEATS WERE WICKER CHAIRS, NO BACKGROUND MUSIC WAS PLYED AND IT ALL SEEMED VERY SPARCE. THE FOOD WAS GOOD. THE OUTSIDE POOL BAR WAS DIRTY AND IF YOU DIDNT WEAR FOOTWEAR YOU WOULD STICK TO THE FLOOR AS THERE WAS BEER AND SOFT DRINKS SPILT OVER THE FLOOR FOR A LONG PERIOD AND NEVER CLEANED. IT WAS NOT PLEASANT TO EAT IN THIS AREA AS THE SMELL OF GONE OFF BEER AND FLIES TO BOOT. AS BEFORE TRAVEL REPUBLIC WAS THE BEST COMPANY TO BOOK WITH AND WILL BOOK AGAIN WITH T/P AND I WILL AS ALWAYS TELL OTHERS OF YOUR COMPANY."

"Just returned from the hotel Barcelo La Galea apartments in Lanzarote having had a brilliant week. Apartments basic but clean. Linen and towels changed every other day. No having to get up early to reserve loungers by the pool as plenty of them to go round. All the staff at the apartments were very helpful. Entertainment was the usual holiday stuff. Felt sorry for the one and only entertainment staff as he was only a trainee who was expected to do adult and childrens's activities day and night. The only downside of the week was the cold food although plenty of variety and no waiting in restaurant or bar. Self service bar!!!!!!!! We have been to many all inclusive hotels before and never seen this before. BRILL"

"Upon arrival at the airport despite booking shuttles in advance there was no clear indication as to whom we should approach to ensure we caught th ecorrect coach to our resort. A rep from First Choice finally sorted this out. When we arrived at the hotel Barcelo La Galea, as we had booked self catering we found upon entering our room that there was not a kettle or a toaster available to us. I asked at reception and was told "as we were not First Choice customers, we were not entitled to one, but I will see what I can do". I did not think I would need to take half of my kitchen with me to get the basics out of a resort!!! However we were finally given both items upon pressing for them. As Hotels4u.com are the booking agents I will be having words along these lines with them also. "

"The one bedroom apartment was of a good size for a family of four. The rooms were cleaned 5 times a week and the staff were very polite and spoke good english. The hotel is located close to the beaches and is centrally located for all the bars and restaurants. I would go back again."

"Had everything we needed, good pool, good kids club, large rooms very spacious, some painting required but very clean, friendly staff, good location, windy resort on some days, great for watching the wind surfers, didn't eat at hotel found lots of good quality restaurants more than enough for 10 lunches and 10 dinners, saw some evening entertainment at hotel kids loved it"

"We were lucky our room was facing the pool and on the third floor,so we enjoyed a good view with sun most of the day. Some rooms were not in such a good position,had restricted views and very little sun. The pool area was always full in the afternoons as most people were all inclusive and did not move all day except to eat and drink. The hotel was in an excellent location for bars and restaurants, and was within easy walking distance of the beach."

"The first room we were in was close to the pool (noisy) but I asked for us to be moved - the hotel were very accomodating and found us a stunning sea view. We could hear the sea day and night and I still miss that sound even now. The resort was quite quiet but fine for couples and young children - teens might lament the lack of clubs. Local windsurfing school was superb. A good solid 3 star and value for money."
