"A very clean hotel, great food, nice staff, highly recommended."

"The hotel certainly meets the rating of a 5 star hotel, the staff and service was excellent and extremely attentive throughout our stay- would recommend and return."

"smashing second time to this hotel, will be going again next year"

"Lovely hotel and the food was great. Different dishes offered for lunch and dinner. Breakfast you had a choice of freshly made eggs at the egg station also fresh bread and rolls were always available. The kids club was excellent all languages were catered for 1 gal from England, Russia and Germany. You could leave the kids for 2 hrs in the morning or afternoon. This gave me time to go shopping at the Nadq centre or La strada or relax in the hotel spa."

"Although the hotel is rated as a 5 star it is by the egyptian standard. I would rate the hotel as 3 star.
The food offered was varied and plenty of different choices available, but the hot buffet food not up to european standard. and the hot food served on there was never hot!"

"This hotel is currently in the midst of an expansion program and whilst the building work did not detract from the holiday the restaurant facilities have lagged behind the expansion. There are about seven different food points, all providing different food, which requires a tour of the building to determine the variety available, and a further tour to make the selection. Also it appears that a shopping mall and a reception type area are being used to provide adequate seating for meals since the actual restaurant is too small.
In spite of this the food was varied and good.
There is also an excellent children's pool (built in record time whilst we were there) with an exceptional lifeguard in attendance - I think he must have as much fun as the kids.
Overall it is a hotel to which we would return (and probably will)."

"Quite a bit of building work was going on at the hotel and we had to change rooms a few times. However it did seem to be done quickly and a whole new kids pool was done in the week we were there.
I did feel that the hotel had been extended a lot and therefore had a strange layout and you always had to walk through restaurants or tables to get to reception or to get out of the hotel.
The entertainment was amazingly bad and very amateur but i found it quite funny and the older generation seemed to love it.
There were a lot of daily activities to do arranged by the entertainment staff, like volleyball, pilates, dance lessons, minigolf and others if you wanted.
All in all, a good holiday for a last minute cheap all inclusive holiday. Though i wouldnt have wanted to pay any more for it."

"We had a wonderful time at Royal Albatros Moderna the hotel is like a village on its own, every one is catered for and the staff cannot do enough for you. The food was available all day, lots of staff cooking something different at different points in the restaurants, pancakes freshly made at 5pm and pancake and popcorn again at 10pm, mmmm. Every one of the staff treated you with courtesy and respect. Tips here and there and they treated you wonderfully. Every thing was GREAT would go there ASAP again."

"We have been to this hotel many times and the staff are always friendly and helpful especially Sharkey who is currently in the pool bar. At the moment they are under going some alterations because they have been swamped with people wanting to book and not enough rooms so they are having to build extra rooms. They are building a third storey to each section which obviously is not good but they are doing a good job and, on the parts they have finished, you would never know that they weren't already a part of the original building. They are also having to build an extra swimming pool because of the extra guests that will be coming so they have sectioned off an area with corregated iron. The animation team have tried to make this look fun by putting grafitti on the walls. At least they are trying. Because of the extra guests they have got, they have extended the dining area and put in extra food stations. On one hand this can be good because they have different potato and vegetable options at each station which gives you more choice and on the other hand it means that you have to look around for the food that you prefer most. On the whole, they had more selection because they had more stations to choose from. We paid under £300 for 2 people, all inclusive for the week and considering we could eat and drink as much as we liked and had clean bedding and towels supplied all week, who are we to complain? That works out at less than £20 per person per night. A complete bargain!!!"

"This was our second stay at this hotel and it was again a fantastic holiday, hotel had even improved from our last stay in February. Staff are brilliant, they are extremely friendly and always have time for you. The food isn't amazing but they have a good range and so there was always something nice to eat, even for fussy eaters. The cleanliness of the hotel is at a very high standard, rooms are left spotless every day after cleaning. The only downside was the evening entertainment as there isn't much to do at night in the hotel though there is loads to do during the day. This is a brilliant place for snorkelling, we went in the water every day after buying a snorkel. Overall a brilliant holiday and would go back tomorrow."

"We went for sunshine & relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The hotel is at the end of the strip so not suitable if you want to go into Sharm often - we didn't so not a problem for us. Some of the negative comments made by previous reviewers of this hotel are, I think, unfair. Yes, parts of the hotel look at if they have been thrown up rather fast and thus the finsh is a bit rough at the edges, but really not a problem in such a benign climate. 30 degrees plus every day and a lovely warm breeze. No wasps or mozzies, just a few flies. We had an enormous room by the heated pool . Balcony overlooked the building work on new hotels/flats , but look to left & right and you see mountains one way and the sea the other. We actually found it quite interesting to watch the builders at work , but there was a lot of work going on within the hotel itself during the day. This was not a great problem to us and, as dusk was about 5pm, they didn't go on into the evening , but I imagine it would be a pain if it was going on right on top of you.
Eveything was very clean, including the restaurants.Yes the food is not what you get in UK or Spain but no-one should expect it to be. You are in a moslem country so forget pork and the full english breakfast. There have been food riots in parts of egypt so spare a thought for this fact before you start moaning about the food. There is plenty of variety and unlimited quantity, if you scour all the different parts of the restaurant before you make your choice you should find something you like. We particularly liked the more eygptian food, which seems to be served in the smaller , third section of the buffet restaurant at night. And the warm croissants at breakfast were lovely. There was a basic choice of drinks - so forget malibu or baileys, but the beer, wine and spirits were perfectly palatable there was no stinginess or restrictions (up until midnight) and no watering down of drinks which you get in many all-inclusive hotels. There were a few cocktails on the all-inclusive too, which I guzzled to my hearts content. We gave out £1 coins as tips at the start and throughout the holiday, which were gratefully received by the many staff and we got a good service from the vast majority of them. Lots of russians in the hotel who did push in a bit and took staggering quantities of food on board, but they were not unfriendly and there was no drunkenness and glass smashing by them or by low-life Brits when we were there. Paid £20 each for a half-hour back massage at the hotel spa which I can recommend as a special treat. Beach lovely and fish fabulous though the water was shallow and not a lot of coral where we were."

"AT THE MOMENT HOTEL IS HAVING A LOT OF WORK DONE AS HOTEL IS GETTING WORN OUT AS OVER 5 YEARS OLD AND WAS IN NEED OF IT THEY ARE PUTTING 3 FLOOR ON WHOLE OF HOTEL I GOT MOVED 3 TIMES IN A WEEK , I VE BEEN TO THIS HOTEL BEFORE AND THEY ARE TRYING HARD WITH THE FOOD BUT STILL A LONG WAY TO GO BUT ALL HOTELS IN EGYPT ARE THE SAME , THE STAFF MAKE THIS HOTEL 5 STAR NOT HOTEL AT THE MOMENT HOPE THIS HELPS ANY ONE"

"It's advertised as 5* but it's well below that category. I travel around 50 countries and resorts in Mexico, Cuba, Turkey, Spain, etc and this one was the worst experience ever. Food is crap! if you choose things outside your "all inclusive" is more expensive than prices in Europe. 11 Euros for 1 hour of internet??? Return taxi to Sharm el Sheikh 25 british pounds?? The people at the reception were really rude! the resort it\s far away from everywhere. And defenetly not a 5 stars! And defenetly Sharm el Sheikh is just a tourist trap! no swimming beaches, no coral reef as it's already demaged, artificial sand on the beach and many other things..."

"would definately return to this Hotel, but had a couple of issues during our stay.
we had booked a family room for the 6 of us and on arrival they tried to give us 2 seperate rooms not ajoining. we got the room changed the day after but it still was not the family room we had booked but still a nice room just not quite big enough for 6.
we booked trips with our XL rep, the first 1 being to Cairo whic we was informed it was a 5 1/2 hours trip which it was actually 8 1/2 hours. Altogether 6 hours more travelling not good.
will definately be using Travel republic again and will recommend to all we know. many thanks to you all at Travel Republic."

"Excellent and still improving - been there 5 times now and will be going back"

"The service we recieved from beginning to end was fantastic. This was our first trip to Egypt and were concerned by some reviews stating that the staff could be unfriendly. We found them all to be excellent. The choice of food was massive and well prepared (although not to everybodies tastes) but you find the same problem anywhere in the world. The rooms were spacious and clean. I honestly cannot fault this hotel."

"a good well run hotel with great staff, right on the beach
good range of various foods available, a masive main swimming pool that was very clean and tidy we stayed in two rooms on the left had side of the complex there was some building work going on above us be it didnt bother us the rooms were large although a little dated but very clean . the holiday was a good allround , this is are third time in egypt and not the last great people wheather and food"

"Booked 7 days before and all went like clockwork. Had no problems with the hotel which was very clean and all staff ver
