"I hate to add that the canal hotel was rather disappointing. The room we were allocated was a small box room with drab decor. The beds were tiny bearing in mind i am rather big and my daughter is pregnant. The whole room was real shabby and next door to the cleaners cupboard which we could hear every morning when she opened the cupboard to get her cleaning implements. We had no view out of our window and we both felt clostaphoebic - the only view we had was rooftops over adjoining houses. We got up the first morning of our stay for breakfast, around 9.15am - breakfast was from 8-10am,only to find all what was left was fruit juice and a little bit of muesli and bread. After finding a seat in the garden, which was under a sun canopy, we were made aware of a rather strong smell of cat spray which was rather sickening. We decided that after paying for breakfast in the price, that we would rather eat elsewhere. On a good point tho,the hotel was in a good situation! but very disappointed with what we found inside. Mrs H A Bedford"

Hotel Details - Canal and Walter Venice Hotel

This cosy, small hotel, situated alongside the Gran Canal, is a few mins walk from both Piazzale Roma and the railway station. Traditional and characteristic with wooden beamed public areas, the Canal & Water Hotel Venice offers comfortable surroundings. All rooms are decorated in an attractive Venetian style. A majority of the rooms have canal views which are available at no extra charge (on request). Staff very friendly. Short vaporetto ride to Rialto or 20 mins walk. Excellent value!

Bus to Piazzale Roma (20 mins), 2.70 Euros and short walk. Taxi to Piazzale Roma c.30 Euros
