"wouldnt recommend the hotel on the one condition the shower was awful scalding hot then freezing cold. when we mentioned this to the hotel staff they said they knew this was a problem and nothing they could do about it and affected all rooms"

"Stayed at the hotel before about 5 years ago, the surrounding area still not really developed you have a free bus to take you into town, taxi around 5 euro each way. A pleasent coastal walk to town takes about 35 mins, not advisable at night as not lit no barriers to protect against the cliffs and sea.
Staff very helpful, lovely hotel, accommadation, ground floor poolside are the best."Top Tip:

"the hotel itsself when booking in its was nice and the staff was lovely but the room was very basic but we was only there for 3 nights"

"WAS VERY RELAXING AND NICE STAFF VERY PLEASENT AND HELPFULL THE NEAREST BEACH WAS A 10 MIN FREE BUS RIDE DOWN TO THE LOCAL RESORT. THE LOCAL BARS WERE VERY GOOD .YOU COULD WALK TO THE RESORT AND BEACH ABOUT 20-25 MIN AND ITS A LOVELY BEACH."

"hotel was nice but very quite. we tried eating at the hotel but the food wasn't very good so we went out for meals most nights. it was a nice walk into caleta but did take about half an hour."

"The value for money was excellent, and we know the area so that was good. The hotel did not acknowledge our requests for non smoking and top floor, which was a pity because it was perfect in all other ways. We have booked with a relative with you to go to another hotel in Caleta on april 30 for 7 days.!"

"The area around the Castillo De Elba Hotel was a building site with the resort of Costa Antigua too quiet having nowhere to walk at nght. During the day a walk to Caleta de Fuste was well worth it taking the prominade route.
Hotel was clean, staff pleasant and the choice of food having plenty of for everyone."Top Tip:

"3* is about spot on, and it's excellent value for money. Pool area is very nice, but the pool was freezing...........it was January though.
Tried breakfast in the hotel once, but the food wasn't up to much.
The area immediately around the hotel is very quiet, eating out in Caleta de Fuste there are plenty of options though.
My Favourites: Le Barca El Pescador for a romantic night with piano in the background and some fantastic local seafood; and O'Fado for some portuguese was excellent and the portions were huge.
If you want an afternoon beverage, two for one in tommy nutter's just round the corner from the hotel."Top Tip:
"The free bus is a bit rubbish. It drives you right past the central area then takes 40 mins before stopping there on the way back. Get a taxi, not even 5 mins and it's only 4 euros. Or walk, about 25-30 mins."Castillo De Elba Hotel check-in Date:

"I found the hotel to be very nice, clean and friendly. The room was perfect and very roomy with every amenity and all the hotel staff were very helpful and kind. I liked using the hotel shop because the lady who served in there was very nice I always had a great laugh with her and she always had a smile on her face, her name was ADELA."

"The food became more plentiful & of higher quality as the number of guests increased. The entertainment programme frequently did not happen.. not well marketed & not particularly good options. Also some facilities were not available. The staff were superb (if somewhat overworked) & the pool was lovely."

"Check out 3 things: (a) the subcat trip to 100m down on the sea bed. Excursion from the hotel cost around £35 (b) the million-year-old cave just N of La Oliva & the prehistoric village at Pozo Negro. "Hotel staff were fantastic, very helpful and went out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. We were under the inpression that this hotel had air conditioning in the apartments but on arrival found that NONE of the apartments had A/C so had to hire a fan. Opportunity to have half board. If you booked a minimum of 5 days half board you paid only 10 Euros a day per person, approx £7.30 for breakfast and evening meal. Plenty of variety of food, not exactly cordon bleu but good value for the money."

"Try the following restaurants at the next town, Caleta de Fuste, about 20 mins walk along coastal path from hotel if you do not have a car. For English food try Tommy Nutter's, for good steaks try Fado Rock and for chinese food try the Slow Boat."Castillo De Elba Hotel check-in Date:

"The staff were very friendly and the hotel itself was very clean. The only problem we had was that our room was in the sports complex and I took my gran who has a stick and she found it difficult to walk to the main entrance every day, but the receptionist did ask after 2 days if we wanted a room on the pool side but my gran enjoyed the peace and quiet of where we were so no complaints really."

"The free bus outside the complex every hour from 10am, but dont forget siesta time from 1-4, ver clean and proffesional.
We found a beach that was behind the shopping centre which was nice but the sea comes in around 3pm so watch out and we also found a beach at the back of Castillo itself, where all the souvenier shops are and the restaurants, that was also a nice beach."Castillo De Elba Hotel check-in Date:
