"The hotel was a bit basic and lacking in atmosphere but perferctly adequate. We had one evening meal which wasn't great but the breakfasts more than made up for this - really nice food and lots to choose from. The hotel has no outlook and is located beside a huge roundabout and traffic interchange which meant some traffic noise. However, the bus and tram stops were only a few metres away which means easy access into the Old Town (and nearby bus and train station) by tram, or on foot - about 20 minute walk. The area around the hotel is a bit drab and dreary and we were disappointed that there were no local bars or restaurants nearby."
Top Tip:
"The tourist information offices are excellent and will furnish you wish all kinds of information including maps of the public transport network which is cheap and reliable. If you are going to Auschwitz take a bus from the bus station - it is so so much cheaper than going on a guided tour. Go to Nova Huta on the tram. Fantastic organ concerts and piano recitals. Great restaurants for local food and lots of atmosphere - Cafe Mkynek, on Pl Wolnica (basic, great food) Miod Malina on Grodzka St - (more upmarket, great interior). " Krakow in your Pocket" guide indispensable - we got free copy at hotel. www.inyourpocket.com"

"The rooms were fairly small but adequate, clean. Staff helpful. Food very good. I would use this hotal again."

"Trams were a good way to travel and very cheap. We were near to the city centre where there was lots to see and do."

"The Hotel was a perfect as a base for exploring Krakow and the surrounding area. The buffet breakfast was more than sufficient and the food at the hotel restaurant was of good quality."
Top Tip:
"Book outings to the Salt Mines or Auschwitz from the hotel reception. It was handy and at a very reasonable rate."

"The staff at the Chopin hotel were so polite and helpful. They ran a coach tour from our hotel to Auschwitz and this trip was so well organised. Thank you. "

"The hotel had a poster advertising a Chopin concert. We went along for just £4 each and it was lovely. Nice to have a completely different experience to usual holiday stuff. "

"THE STAY WOULD HAVE BEEN PERFECT APART FROM THE MOTORWAY CONSTRUCTION WHICH STARTED AT 6.30AM.THE ROOM WAS TO WARM AND WE WERE UNABLE TO SWITCH THE RADIATOR OFF,BUT APART FROM THIS IT WAS OK.THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT.WOULD GO BACK.....IF THE MOTORWAY WAS COMPLETE."

"Current roadworks outside the hotel made it difficult to get to by car. Hotel web-site says that it is a 10 minute walk into the town centre, but in reality 20 - 25 minutes is more realistic. "

Hotel Details - Chopin Krakow Hotel

This modern hotel is located in the vicinity of the city center and the important medieval Market Square which is the largest in Europe! Both the railway station and the bus stop are within a few minutes of walking distance from the hotel. Rooms are of a medium size, clean and comfortable with warm colours. The hotel's restaurant spoils guests with traditional Polish and International cuisine. This is a very good base to discover the city with its heritage and attractions.

Airport:
Transfer from the hotel to airport takes about 30 mins by taxi and costs c. PLN60.00 per journey. The bus number 192 direct form the airport costs c.PLN2.50 per journey.

Uncovered parking facilities available at c. €9.00 per day.
