Janet from Liverpool 13 reviewed the Club Siroco Apartments
"Was a bit apprehensive as I had read some reviews about the apartments however I was pleased we were actually given a two bedroom apartment. It was cleaned regularly. pool was cleaned, the only negative was the security of the doors in the apartment they could do with updating them. "

"lovely chinese restuarant down the road on the left very reasonable best crispy duck ever and bottle of house red 6 Euros ."
GINA from LIVERSEDGE reviewed the Club Siroco Apartments
"Hotel of a good standard, food ok but not much choice and often rather cold. Entertainment rubbish, nothing for kids to do during the day as entertainment team consisted of 2 girls who were in charge of ALL daytime entertainment (ie. kids club, shooting, darts etc...) and were also in charge of evening entertainment which was also not very good."
Steven from Newcastle Under Lyme reviewed the Club Siroco Apartments
"Reception staff very polite and helpful. Basic but spacious and well equipped apartment. Kitchen had toaster, kettle and microwave as well as the usual fridge and hob. Large wardrobe in bedroom with plenty of hanging space and shelves but not many coathangers. Can't comment on restaurant or food within the complex as didn't use them, preferring to go out to eat every night. Tennis courts, mini golf etc useable but could do with some maintenance. Strange set up with football pitch, floor was covered in deep coating of black grit, impossible to play on but entrance was blocked off for whole of our 2 week visit anyway. Pool tables, air hockey and football tables in games area in poor condition and frequently broken and out of use. Internet cafe closed upon arrival, was told it was due to them changing providers but it remained closed during our stay and then day before we came home 2 computers appeared in reception area, very expensive though, you only got around 7 minutes for 1 Euro, whereas at other places you could get 20 to 30 minutes. Bit disappointed as internet was one of the main reasons we chose the place. However, hotels nearby had internet facilities and amusement arcade in nearby shopping centre had several computers. Turn right out of apartments for everything as there is nothing to your left. Los Charcos beach only a few minutes walk away but carry on walking right and main beach is just a few minutes further. Very well stocked Netto supermarket 3 to 4 minutes walk along the road from apartments then cross over the road and carry on for a minute or two to the Las Cucharas shopping centre. Several good restaurants there and plenty of shops selling souvenirs, beach items etc. Club Siroco's official rating is only a 2 star but overall it's a good base for a cheap self catering holiday. Would visit Costa Teguise again but would probably try alternative accommodation at far end of main beach instead.

"In Las Cucharas shopping centre Popeye's is a great informal English Sports Bar/Restaurant and at Columbus both the food and service are excellent. Tried La Chiminea one night but found all the staff very stand offish, rude and unfriendly and they got our order wrong twice. Strong prices in there for very average food."

"We were very disappointed with the hotel, its facilities and the surrounding area. The animation team made no effort to encourage a friendly atmosphere. They only played music they liked and not music suitable for a mixed audience. Afternoon water polo matches were far too much effort for them and, on one occasion, the girl who was supposed to be keeping score/blowing the whistle just wandered off half way through! Since this was the only entertainment they organised (half an hour per day) it would have been nice if she could have seen it through to the end. The disco area was not big enough to hold all the guests so we were mostly left sitting outside in the cool evening breeze (more like a tornado really at Costa Teguise!)
Our party had two rooms (219 and 220) and each was infested with ants. They crawled freely over the kitchenette worktops, dining table and floors. I understand from other guests that the ground floor rooms also have cockroaches. Ants had even infested the kettle (sadly I didn't notice this until I had made and drank several cups of coffee).
The staff were on the whole very efficient but not particularly happy. The on-site supermarket charges rip-off prices - four euros for a packet of plain biscuits. The food was OK although often luke-warm.
The beach is not very close and is pretty much unused due to the prevailing wind which means that you need to wear goggles to keep the sand out of your eyes. There are no beach bars or sunbeds or watersports. The nearest bars and restaurants are only a 15 minute walk away but there are only 3 or 4 of them and none of them are of a very high standard.
All in all a very disappointing holiday. We travelled with a group of four 16 year olds. The write-up mentioned bike hire - there was none at the hotel. There was minigolf but they only have 2 golf balls. They wanted to charge the boys 40 euros to play tennis (mostly deposit) which they could not afford.

"hotel rooms were basic but served their purpose. Everything is very clean, including pool and public areas. Cheap and cheerful accomm. Look out for all the kittens hiding in the bushes... so cute, you'll wanna bring one home. Karaoke with Lisa at the Loco's pool bar in the hotel is an experience! Nice burgers at the pool bar too! Hello to Michael and Sarah at the Loco's pool bar... you added lots of fun to our holiday. We only ate at the hotel restaurant once, wasnt the greatest so wouldnt recommend all inclusive. If you want to be right on a sandy beach, this isnt the place for you. Nearest beach is quite rocky but there is a nice sandy one about 10 mins walk away. But its nice to sit out on the rock outcrops and watch the wind surfers "

"worth walking up to Alessio's restaurant (come out the hotel, turn right, walk passed Netto, keep walking about 5 mins till you come to the next Netto then the restaurant is pretty much opposite - 3 courses for 8 euros, decent food too)."

"april/ may 2008
we have just returned from the club sirocco and were so dissapointed just felt that we had to let others booking how bad this accomodation is. where to start! appalling decor with flaking paint, chunks of plaster missing from brickwork, broken panes of glass in sliding patio doors and kitchen cupboard doors that would neither close properly or even meet together. although we were after a cheap break just to get away and lie in the sun, we have learnt that things are cheap for a good reason.!
rude reception staff that would leave you standing at front desk for ages while they chatted in back room, even though they had seen you and were aware you were waiting, unhelpful in the extreme, evening staff didnt seem to know much at all and would ask you to come back and ask in the morning. if you wanted to change stirling cash at the main reception forget it, they never had any money in the till!!
on one occasion the maintenace guy came in to change the broken pane to glass in the sliding door and left glass shards on floor which my friend cut her foot on.only good point were cleaners, very good and efficient. pool was also nice and clean and pool areas were cleaned very regularly. late night music from pool bar and frolics from people pushing each other into pool would not go down to well with families as we were often woken up at 2.30 am with the noise. a good stroll away from main centre with shops, bars and restaurants.main beach yuk! overall very dissapointing accomodation and would not recommend"
Top Tip:
"beach sands resort just over road, excellent facilities, private beach and really good entertainment of an evening."
ELIZABETH from BOSTON reviewed the Club Siroco Apartments
"Excellent value for money. Apartments, pool, and grounds kept spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay here again if returning to Lanzarote. Not close to main centre, but taxis were readily available and very cheap."
Top Tip:
"Restaurants we found good: 'Isla Bonita' and 'Villa Toledo'. Both served local fresh food, and used by 'locals', both reached easily by taxi, ( 2-3 ) Euros."
D from LEIGH ROAD reviewed the Club Siroco Apartments
"Club Sirroco Appartments where clean and tidy, nice clean pool, food was good and staff very helpful. Situated in a good place close to beaches and bars, not too close so no noise at night.
Very well worth a holiday there."
