  • "good value for money very helpful staff to make your stay more welcome, good food and good outside pool. The place is in need off decoration and I understand this is due to be done over this winter."

  • Top Tip:

"The nearest beach is Latchi about 20 mins away with good restaurants."

  • Tracey from Bedford reviewed the Cyprotel Droushia Heights Hotel

  • "Staff were very friendly. Views of the Akamas and Polis spectacular.F ood good. We are vegetarian and they basically asked us what we wanted and attempted to make it for us,
It is ideally set for those wanting a different(more homely) type of base in Cyprus. It is also cooler than the coast as you are up on the hillside overlooking Polis."

  • Top Tip:

"Travel through Droushia to Iniea(approx 2 km).Look for Zornas cafe and follow paved road down through the side of Akamas hills to Lara beach.
Also hire your own boat for day(£60-£80CYP) from Latchi harbour and tour Akamas peninsula by sea.Having lived in Cyprus for year these were 2 of our Polis highlights."

  • Gail from Sheffield reviewed the Cyprotel Droushia Heights Hotel

  • "If you drive yourself to the hotel there are no good directions! So here they are: get onto the main Pahos-Polis road and turn left at Strompi. Continue to the end and turn right at the T-junction. Ignore the first sign to Droushia. Take the next left turn signed Droushia. After about half a mile you will see a small sign for Cyprotels/Drouchia Heights on your right - turn left and the hotel is on your left after a few hundred yards.
The hotel is in a lovely situation on a hill with views and is good for people who find the heat difficult because there is a breeze. The hotel is somewhat old-fashioned and basic, which we quite like but others might not. The food was below average, rather unimaginative and limited. Staff are friendly and helpful. We attended an interesting lecture from a worker who has been promoting traditional crafts and activities as a way of creating employment and retaining young people in the Troodos area. The hotel hosts a number of such events. We would definitely be happy to stay at Droushia Heights again despite the food!."

  • Top Tip:

"Polis beach is unspoilt and quiet, away from the town, with a beach bar, pine woods and a discreet campsite.
There are two restaurants in the next village (on the Strompi-Droushia route) both with indoor and outdoor tables - one is a good , inexpensive, family taverna and the other, much newer, is very smart and offers excellent surroundings and food, raised above the road. There is another nice little taverna on the Droushia to Paphos back road in the next village - good food under a huge grape-vine, at plastic tables, it has a lovely atmosphere, seems to be open all the time.
It is relatively easy to get to more distant parts of Cyprus, such as Nicosia and the Troodos mountains. With a four-wheel drive vehicle it would be great to explore the minor roads and all the hilltop monasteries. (as long as you aren't scared of heights!). The ruins at Kounia near Limassol and the world heritage site by the harbour in Paphos are MUST-SEE - the former are beautifully presented, sited on a hill with stunning views and each building is covered so you can visit in the heat of the day. The ruins at Paphos harbour are very extensive and the mosaics fantastic, but avoid the heat of the mid-day period because there is very little cover. It is incredibly cheap to visit archaeological sites. The Akamas peninsula is unspoiled and the coast road is pretty."
