Elaine from South Woodham Ferrers reviewed the Calimera Royal Diamond Beach Hotel
"we loved it , had a wonderful time. staff were brilliant - i have to say we were never hasseled on the level that othere people have said about and i think that they have given unfair reviews about this hotel. food was excellent - way above average. swimming pools lovely , room homely and i think thats all you should ask for when you go on holiday. we were treated like royalty , it was my boyfriends birthday while we were there and they made our evening so so special and something that we will never forget, perhaps that because we are only 26 we dont expect much to keep us happy but i cannot see how anyone can moan about the place, the beach might be a beach but we visited other 5* hotels and they were exactly the same.
Its not a place for children at all in june july or august purely because of the heat im a sun worshipper and could not bear it.
we done the moses mountain excursion which is not advisable if you arent that fit walking up a mountain for 3 and a half hours in the dark is really hard but if you can do it - it is amazing and worth every minute even the hair raising drive there.
ras mohammed snorkelling trip - the best thing ive ever done. we paid extra for intro dive - fantastic and the whole day only cost £23 each.
quad biking in desert. i hated it , boyfriend loved it .if your idea of fun is seeing dead camels in desert then go for it but ladies wear a sports bra.
overall fantastic and would not hesitate to go back there. in fact i wish i was there now"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - however, altho still very new (only been opened 7 months) it lacks just that bit extra for a supposed 5*. The food was excellent and the hotel seemed clean and staff very freindly - For an All Inclusive tho we were surprised that for 2 of the restaurants (beachside seafood, and Indian) there was a charge - The main pool was quite noisy and crowded, and the Non Aktiv pool has no toilets other than nipping into reception, amd also only Non alcoholic drinks available at this pool ! There is a 3rd pool near the reception which looks like its about to open soon as well.
I may be painting a harsh picture, but as I said we did thoroughly enjoy our week"

"The hotel was fantastic the staff gave 110% all staff had a smile and a nice word for everyone, you was made to feel very special and I can’t think of a single criticism. My waist line wouldn’t allow me to stay more than two weeks, the food was very impressive.
The cleaning staff cleaned constantly not a spec of dirt to be found.
The sea was like looking into a tropical fish tank.
A real five star performance by all. Thank you"

"We had a very enjoyable 2 weeks at the Calimera Royal Diamond Beach Hotel, however if we did go again to Sharm we would stay in another hotel due to the amount of Italians that took over the place and everything seemed to revolve around them?! I learnt that this wasn't the case in the other hotels in Sharm."

"We found the check in to be extremely quick, we were offered a drink and cool refreshing towels on arrival. Our bags were taken up to our room and we were transported by buggy. There are a lot of steps and it is a walk to the main restaurant from the sea view rooms (which are lovely) but we were not conerned by this as enjoy walking however the amount of steps may be a problem for less able travellers.
The food was good however we found it less aimed toward english, for example a whole counter with choice of around 40 pastries/cakes but only choice of boiled egg, russian sausages and beans as a cooked breakfast, There is however a chef who cooks omlettes to order, and lots of fresh fruit.
Service at meal times was rather erratic, sometimes we were ignored and we had to ask several times for a coffee, other days we were asked if we wanted more coffee even if we had a full cup?! It seemed that service varied according to where you sat.
The area itself was good and we were pleased to be out of the main town which seemed very touristy - the hotel is in a good spot and 10 minutes walk will take you into the main town with market, tourist shops.
The sea is fantastic, with jettys enabling non swimmers to still engoy the sea and fish which are beautiful.
The staff were helpful and courteous however we had to be firm with the chaps who were selling massages, they questioned why we did not want massages however after a few days they said good morning and left us to it.
All in all a lovely stay and excellent weather."

"We found the staff very helpful and friendly the hotel is huge and have car bugies to transport you from your room to the restaurant or reception which we used but we prefered to be more central so we managed to change rooms, Food was good very clean hotel, had a wonderful holiday down side we should have gone early April as it was a bit too hot, swimming pool very nice, but not enough entertainment at night."

"All restaurants should be included in All inclusive.
You are continually asked by staff from the Indian restaurant if you would like to book for this restaurant, also by spa staff if you would like to book treatments.
Beach not nice - dirt only - no sand - and all very uneven.
Small pool would be best suited to adults only as supposed to be a "quiet" pool.
Poolside bar at small pool in course of being constructed and very badly needed.
More shaded areas required at small pool."
Top Tip:
"Old and new markets both close by - within walking distance (10 mins). At this time alcohol cannot be purchased within the new market, but you can bring your own."

"Lots of Italians in this hotel about 90%. Built On a hillside down towards the beach so if you are not fit and health you might find it difficult to get to all the Restuarants would say its not suitible for people in wheel chairs , people with walking sticks or heart problems "

"The hotel was excellent, the room we were allocated was very nice although I'm not sure what the "Deluxe" part was over and above normal. I said it was suitable for "older people" though you could have a bit of a climb up to the reception, main bars & restaurants depending on where your room is. The guests here were predominatley Italian (maybe 60%) so the animation appeared to be more geared that way. All the staff were friendly, helpful & professional in their manner and the way they went about their work. We didn't leave the complex as we were on a weeks chillout and it certainly worked for us."

Roger from Milton Keynes reviewed the Calimera Royal Diamond Beach Hotel
"Lovely hotel, immaculately clean with good selection of food. However, it is not a 5* by European standards probably more a 3/4*. The deluxe sea view rooms are definiately worth the extra money as they are much more spacious than normal rooms and have better equipped bathrooms. Large swimming pool and sunbathing area, plus smaller pool. Beach disappointing as no more than a strip of shingle on concrete base. Snorkelling fantastic with fish and colours out of this world. Red and Rose wine were quite acceptable so were some of the local spirits such as gin, vodka and ouzo.
We had a very relaxing week here in March with weather around 35/26 degrees but it was quite chilly at night.
I would definitely recommend this hotel but do not expect more than 4* services."
Top Tip:
"Snorkelling gear in hotel shop cheaper than UK prices. Take some Nescafe Capuccion or Latte sachets if you are coffee lovers as coffee in hotel is awful. Most places that we visted preferred Egyptian pounds and not dollars. Do not bother to buy Visa at airport if you are not planning to go outside of resort. You can save yourself £25.00 here."

"The hotel was lovely and accommodation was comfortable there were plenty of sunbeds too!!. The grounds were very clean as were the restaurants etc. There were a quite a few downsides during our stay - we were harassed by hotel staff who insisted we needed a massage and would not give in until we booked and then continued to advise we needed further massages( £50 per person) also not many Brits so a bit isolated!! "the hotel accomodation was top class the food was fab with lots of selection and the staff were all very friendly, however the majoity of guest were italian and therefor most of the entertainment was geared for them and mostly spoken in italian. Besides the language barrier the entertainment was of high school standard. while there we used the amazing spa, I had a scrub and and my partner had a massage and both were first class, however we were asked everyday multiple times by the staff selling spa treatments if we would like more treatment (they are all on commission ) which got alittle anoying. We were advised befor we went and had it comfirmed when we arrived that we should tip all serving staff, and did so, giving each 5 eqyptian pounds (this was the recommended). we were however the only guest doing so and as a result were treated like kings with service being given without being asked for. As a whole sharm is great for sun and sea and relaxation but very poor on entertainmnet inside and out side. leaving the hotel complex is very hard work and quite stressful as you get alot of pressure from locals to part with you cash. We chose sharm because we wanted sunshine in march and that is exactly what we got, however because of the lack of entertainment we would not go back."

Irene from Liverpool reviewed the Calimera Royal Diamond Beach Hotel
"The hotel was absolutely lovely. it was very clean and the food was good and varied. The pool area was spotlessly clean and the hotel was right on the beach.
The snorkeling and diving from the hotel jetty was superb. We went on a boat trip, but the sights were no better than those from the hotel jetty.
The only downside possibly was that the hotel was built in tiers, and there were a number of steps to get from the hotel restaurant to the pool or beach. This did not matter at all to us, and added to the lovely views, but it may be a disadvantage to older people or those with walking difficulties.
"
Top Tip:
"The hotels along the beach area each have a jetty, so you can swim or snorkel from one to the other and feel quite safe.
There is a large shopping complex just a few minutes walk from the hotel."

"Hotel was opened in November. Staff are very attentive and aim to please. The Hotel foyer is pleasing and is kept spotlessly clean as are the pool areas. Buffett restaurant is above average. The Italian and Idian Restaurants are superb and well worth a visit. The rooms are comfortable and kept very clean. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this Hotel. The only compalint was that there was not an English tour operators booklet to browse through. "
Top Tip:
"Dont make the mistake we did and get off the courtesy bus at Down Town! Very intimidating. There is a new Shopping Centre being built about a 10 mins walk away. "

"The Hotel and food was excellent and inclusive no restrictions on where you can eat and drink as there are in a number incusive hotels in Sharm. made to feel very welcome by staff. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Not very good for anyone disabled or walking difficulties as the beach and main pool are down at the bottom of the complex as are many of the rooms, quite steep sloping path with steps. I
