"Went at the end of October the hotel was very quite. The pool being on the roof made it difficult for my mum to climb the stairs. Also there was only vending machines at the pool area that were switched off. No pool attendant and if you wanted to use the sunlounges you had to move a weight off them, if you wanted a parasol you had to go thorough the lot of them to find one that was not broken. The room was small for three people"

"I am sorry to say that the El Puerto is the second worst hotel I have ever stayed in (the worst being a hotel on the Costa Brava in 1990!) The Reception area is OK but this is deceiving. The rooms are tiny, dingy and dark due to having no overhead light, the only lights are reading lights above the beds. The carpet on the floor looks filthy. The lifts are a joke - you have no idea if or where they'll stop! Several times we gave up and walked but we were on the 6th floor - I don't think this would be a good idea if you were on the 16th floor! The food in the restaurant is edible but is repetitiive and luke warm. The restaurant itself is like the rest of the hotel - shabby and dated. The whole place needs a major facelift. Having said all this, El Puerto does have a few plus points - the location is great and it isn't as noisy as some hotels I've stayed in on the Costa Del Sol. The rooms are kept immaculately clean by the maids (although they can't do much with the carpets). Also, the view from the balcony is fantastic if you're brave enough to out there!"

"people with vertigo needs to request lower floors other than that hotel ideal"

"Hotel was your average 3* so dont expect anything extra. It was clean & comfortable and the rooms although seemed a little small they were ok for 2 persons. As usual the only English TV channel was sky News. The major plus for this hotel were the views from your room all along the coast and hills to the rear if you had a front or side facing room. The major moan from me was there was little choice of food in the restaurant and it seemed at times a little under cooked. Other than that the lifts although 3 of them we sometimes had to wait upto 6 mins to get one. Drinks prices in the hotel are expensive for a 3 star hotel. All in all a fair price stay for what we paid and a score of 7.5 out of 10."

"good location ,room too small, breakfast adaquate"

"Hotel was really good, food good if anything the room needed a little TLC. The week we were there there was a lot of noise throughout the night by youngsters who were in the hotle attending a roller blade convention - they seemed to want to stand on the corridor chatting and laughing loudly until the early hours. Thought the night porter could have done some trawling of the corridors to alleviate this, but they did not."

"helpful staff. Food not bad. Rooms ok. Will use again in near future."

"Nice hotel but the magnificent foyer and staircase are a little misleading, very disappointed when we got to our room on the 11th floor, couldn't distinguish the patterns from the stains on the carpet!
Could certainly do with a refurb. Main gripe was that the air-con automatically switches off during the middle of the night, just when you need it most. However the location was just perfect for what we wanted and the price was very reasonable."

"The reception staff were wonderful, but the restaurant staff were adequate. Rooms rather small. Great location, good air con, varied breakfast."

"Good situation close to beach and marina- Food was ok evening meal was very good breakfast about average. Room very clean and in good condition overall. Staff very friendly and helpful indeed got intomour room for 1pm didnt have to wait for 3pm which was good.Entertainment was not that good but this wasn't a worry to us. Loved the pool and not worriying about getting a sunbed or brolly these were always available no need to get up early to put towels on.
Very close to train station so got from malaga airport for only 3.8 euros return!!! each
Was a bit noisy until early hours but we coped ok with patio closed and air conditioning on.Would go there again is good for a 3 star hotel
We asked for on our booking (and got) high up room in larger tower and got room overlooking pool and beach fab views.
We love travel republic and now using them for all our holidays aready booked with them for 2009!!"

"Food good plenty of choice.staff friendly.rooms are clean but could do with updating and with more storage space.Hotel in great location."

"the hotel was really nice the beach just across the road close to all the shops and markets food was really nice people friendly the only thing i would like to say about the hotel room was it was small and with no fridge to keep drinks cold but i took a mini fridge with me for my daughters drinks maids came in every day to clean the room"

"CLEAN STAFF HELPFULL DOWN SIDE POOL AREA NO DRINKS FACILITYS AND 44 STEPS TO GET THEIR"

"Lovely clean hotel, right in the heart of Feungirola. Beach opposite the hotel, surronded by local bars and restaurants. We were half board and the food was great, with a wide variety to choose from. The swimming pool was on the roof and you need to climb quite a few steps to get to the top, but overall a highly recommended hotel."

"Holiday in general was very good in terms of staff assistance, room cleanliness, etc.
In catering terms, evening meals were reasonable but breakfast service was mediocre with in particular sub standard hot dishes. Hot drinks such as tea and coffee were very distasteful persumably due to water quality.
Howerver overall rating of hotel 7 out of 10."

"the hotel was a perfect for my requirements the hotel was clean and staff more than helpful for me as a single traveller would happily stop there again if in the area great value for money thanks"

"Nice hotel built in the 70's, staff very helpful and friendly. Room cleaned every day, bed linen 3 times a week. I would recommend El Puerto Hotel to anyone."

"I really enjoyed my stay here . I have stayed here several times and always found the staff very friendly. I t is situated on the front over looking the beach and even though my room was on the front i was never disturbed by any noise even when I stayed in July when it is really busy"

"food not very inspiring and not hot ,very clean, good view, pleasant staff"
