"A rather tired building, decor and fittings. Compared with our apartment in Paphos the previous week this was larger but had no TV, microwave or toaster. We needed directions to find the hotel and phoned, but the manager, who is obviously the village idiot, was unable to give directions. It turned out we were 2 minutes away on the next roundabout on the main road! Overall it was OK and quite reasonable value for money."

"We stayed in a studio (self catering) which was pretty basic but ok for us for a week. The staff at the reception and bar were very nice and friendly. The hotel is conveniently located 1 min walk from the beach and close to shops and taverns."
Top Tip:
"There are lots of great places to eat and to enjoy those cocktails with umbrellas and all the other trimmings. :-) Our favourite tavern for breakfast and lunch was Kartanas Tavern on Pernera high street which is just a few minutes' walk from Farkonia. We tried several restaurants and found that Kartanas offered the best value in terms of taste, quality, portion size and price. The staff were friendly, too. There is also a Greek restaurant (name of which I can't remember but it's opposite Shalimar's Indian restaurant) where they serve free house wine with dinner.
You can either enjoy the sun at the poolside (and barside!) in Farkonia or choose from one of the many beaches around. Our favourite beach was 'Donkey Beach' (so nicknamed after a donkey who stands by the beach all day long) belonging to a neighbouring hotel. Please note that there is normally a charge for the sun loungers which can vary from beach to beach."

"Hotel was good value for money. Had a beach really close by - 2 mins walk. taxi is 6CYP into protarus, however there are a few bars around if you want a quiet night. Would go back."

"Apartments large but in need of refurbishment. Good location overlooking sea. Bar staff very friendly and helpful. Short walk to all restaurants, bars, shops etc.
Enjoyed a very relaxing two weeks."
Top Tip:
"Two of the best restaurants, Sizzlers & Cultura del Gusto within 5mins walk.
Lovely coastal path passing many beaches all the way to Protaras centre. Beach taverna opposite apt,s (Blue Bay) very good food and very cheap."

"Hotel OK, but a lot of noise is created in the room when doors bang and thoughtless guests are coming and going at night. Reception was often unmanned in the evening, and I liked to keep hold of my room key. Rooms were cleaned often enough but sometimes by someone with an attitude. I shouted 'No!' as one cleaner tried to get into my room (without knocking) as I wasn't decent, the cleaner ran to the balcony and looked out behing the curtain- presumably to catch me hiding someone there. She proceeded to clean the room in the style of a sulking teenager despite being 50. I tried tipping another cleaner and she assumed that I was trying to offer her money for sex, so not so good for making assumptions about guests!

Good value for what I paid though (the hotel that is)"

Farkonia Apartments is a holiday paradise for all seasons situated on the south east coats of Cyprus, it benefits all year round mild climate and warm Mediterranean sea. It stretches around the bay of Pernera unique for its crystal clean turquoise sea and silver-white sandy beach.

Accommodation

Comfortable one bedroom and studio apartments are equipped with kitchenette, fridge, 2 cooking rings, bathroom, wc, telephone, balcony, air conditioning (payable locally per day). Also some studios are without a balcony.

Sports & Leisure

Large swimming pool, childrens pool, sun beds and umbrellas and games for children are available. There is also a wide variety of water sports along the beach.

Facilities & Services

A pool snack bar and a supermarket are available in the hotel.
