"When I booked the Fito Bay Hotel your Travel Agent could not find any write up about the place. I myself searched the internet but could only find the Hotel write up which isn't always as honest as it should be.

I was aware that the hotel was reasonably near to the Airport, purely because I knew we were staying in Pythagaron and that was the nearest town to the Airport.

So we arrived at the airport and it was a fab turnaround, we were out of there and hailing a cab within 20mins.
I don't think I quite appreciated exactly how near to the Airport Fito Bay was until we arrived literally 3 mins into our taxi journey and saw we were actually staying at the end of the runway! I'm not exagerating, the earth literally moved for my husband and I when we were lying in bed but only because planes were only about 20ft above the roof of our bungalows when they took off!

Anyway on arrival at the hotel the grounds of the Fito Bay were lovely, pleasant gardens and the appearance of the bungalows looked great. However the actual room itself was VERY small and the style was in need of updating ! Although it was very clean :)

One thing we both loved was the air conditioning which was effective and Free, very unusual for Greek hotels!

This hotel is not somewhere popular with the English, mostly mainland Europeans, in fact it appeared we were the only English people their for the whole period. Quite liked that actually.

Anyway to summarise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fito Bay. All i'd say is you MUST indicate that it is literally based at the bottom of the runway and although it's not a busy airport, flights take off virtually everday.

With a little updating, friendlier reception staff and double glazing on the bungalow windows, then I think you've got yourself a cracking hotel :)

"Loved Samos. Hotel ok & comfortable - though small. Nice quiet pool area. Hotel practically at end of the airport run way but the flights weren't very often & were no bother.People very nice. Would definately go back."
