"Unfortunately the Galaxy Hotel was far too isolated for us as we do not drive abroad and because it was towards end of season there were no restaurants open in the near vicinity - a call to Med.Hotel reps. in the travel agent office in Lassi sorted our problem out immediately and couldn't have been more helpful. They arranged accommodation in Lorenzo Hotel for us (at extra charge) and transport - they were brilliant.
Nothing wrong with Galaxy Hotel just wrong place for us."

"This is the 2nd stay at this small friendly hotel and thoroughly enjoyed ever minute. The staff are extremely helpfull and the rooms are kept clean with maid service every day. The breakfast is continental but there are choices of Fruit, meats, cheese, toast, fresh bread, cereals,Yogurt, honey,tinned peaches orange juice and tea/coffee. Will definately return to this hotel"

"This family run hotel has something money cannot buy:outstanding service by very helpful staff who are there when you need them. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed and accommodation comfortable. The poolside bar served delicious snacks such as souvlaki and burgers. Though it is well situated for discovering the island there is much of historical interest and beauty locally. We want to return."

"The people working there are wonderful and help all they can with directions, restaurants, best beaches etc., however the rooms were very basic. It was almost like a hostel and when we saw the bathroom we nicknamed it 'Tenko.'

The rooms were tidied but the bedding was not changed in the week we were there and the beds left unmade on several occasions."

"The hotel is simple but comfortable.The surroundings are amazing and scenery breathtaking.Walk outside the gates and the clear blue water is only metres away.Small secluded coves everywhere.If its a quiet ,relaxing break you want then try the Galaxy.A bit secluded, situated on the Fanari Rd between Lassi and Argostili but the walks are amazing or hire a bike or car and explore.
Free remote control air con and a tv .Rooms cleaned every day.Breakfast basic and the same but thats the way it is.Pool area a sun trap with clean salt water pool.Some one there to help at or near reception 24 hrs a day .
Take a kettle if you like your cuppa."

"Room basic but very clean, fresh towels every day but didn't like the bathroom as old with hand held shower and water came out.
Breakfast was good with lots of bread,jam, yogurt,boiled eggs,ham,cheese,cake and cereals.Tea and coffee from a machine but was fine.

"Excellent family run hotel with extremely helpful and pleasant staff.Very clean and tidy. Seawater swimming pool very well maintained. Static menu for breakfast but good standard of simple food.

Before going on holiday reviews said that nearest beaches are Lassi, 5 kilometres away.This could be off putting for families especially without transport.

However there is a beautiful cove across the road from the hotel and an excellent beach with very safe swimming just a five minute walk away from hotel going towards Agastolli- good selling points."

"Kefalonia is a very nice place, definitely recommend it for couples and families as it is quite unspoilt, apart from Skala!

The hotel is not well signposted at all, so make sure you know where to go beforehand if making your own way."

"The room we stayed in was very basic but it was cleaned every day and we had a TV and air-con which came in very useful!

The pool and bar were really good and we spent a lot of time in this part of the hotel.

The best thing about the Hotel Galaxy was the staff though. They were always really friendly and were always willing to chat and help you if you needed it."

"I cannot fault the cleanliness of the hotel and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The sheets were changed nearly every day as were the towels. The breakfast was more than adequate. This consisted of fruit, museli, cornflakes, greek yoghurt, bread, toast, jam, marmite, boiled egg, honey, cake cheese, cold meats and butter which is enough choice for anyone. Orange juice tea and coffee were also provided. It was a self service system which meant you could eat or drink as much as you wanted. Air conditioning is provided free of charge, which is a definite plus. On the downside the hotel would benefit from having an overhaul as the decor is dated. However this did not bother me because myself and my husband were out and about exploring the Island. The other thing which is essential if staying at this hotel is a car. The location of the hotel is a long way from either Argostoli and Lassi. It was far too hot to walk to either of them."

"The Hotel is in a very quiet area, not suitable for people requiring a lively holiday.

The family are delightful and make you extremely welcome. Restaurants are about half an hours walk or easy to get to by taxi
(costing 6 euros).
Perfect for a relaxing holiday.

"The owners were great friendly, welcoming, could not do enough for you. The pool area was clean and again welcoming. Just oustside the hotel the views were to die for . It was a 30 min walk into Agastolli but it was a pleasant walk. It took around 50 min to walk in to Lassi and there were a few hills to climb this walk was not for the unfit. All in all it was a great holiday but if you are in the older generation or have families I would hire a car."

"We stayed at the Galaxy Hotel 3rd -10th June 2008. The hotel was old but spotlessly clean, the bedding and towels were changed almost every day. Breakfast was basic but perfectly edible. The family that ran the hotel were extremely helpful, nothing too much trouble, dad was a great character and kept his eye on everything, he picked fresh flowers from the hotel garden for reception. We do a lot of walking but the walk to Lassi was hard going in the heat of the day (about 40 minutes) The walk to Argostoli was shorter (about 25 minutes) We hired a car for 5 days so we could tour the island. The Galaxy is an ideal hotel for those wanting to chill, it is in a peaceful location with lovely views, we hope to return one day! Pam and Giuseppe from Lancashire."
