While there are some restaurants etc. nearby you really need a car to visit local attractions."

This hotel is not a five star hotel it should be rated three to four star at a push.

We booked a double room and where given twin beds pushed together.

We would not go back to this hotel"

"We live in Cyprus,and this was a two night break. The HOtel is not on par with a 3 star never mind 5. We have fabulous 5 star Hotels in Paphos. The hotel was dirty the room smelled musty. the bed linen was transparent through age. The gardens are over grown, the pool was dirty I could go on and on. We would not have stayed if our car had not been in for service in Larnaca leaving us with no transport. An English couple checking out had the same complaints ."

"Arrived at 9AM was allowed to go to a room by 1100 and offered breakfast while room was cleaned etc. Staff very helpful indeed. Booked a double room but beds were 2 singles side by side with separate sheets and douvets. Complained to manager and was moved to a proper double bedroom. Hotel said just because double was booked did not guarantee double beds!!! Seemed strange to me and I saw lots of rooms being cleaned that had twin beds put together. For 5 stars I found this concept unacceptable. That said, they did allow us to move and resolved the problem but beware for future double bed bookings turning into twins!!!
Cyprus night and meze was good, belly dancing night was almost laughable with music out of synch with dancer and no real compare to explain what was going on. Food was dry and out too long for the buffet period. Breakfasts were very good and generally the hotel was fine. I hired a car and we travelled to other parts of the island, Car hire for 3 days cost me the same as a 2 way transfer to/from Larnaca airport to the Golden Bay. 7 days in the same place would be too much to take. This was not a European 5 star hotel, probably 3 star max. I would not stay again as other 3 star hotels on the island would have been fine from what I saw and cheaper."

"Whilst it may not have been terrible it was far from Okay. This was a 2/3 star hotel billed as a 5 star. It may have been years ago but it is a long way from that rating now. Service was either intrusive or non existant. Staff were unhelpful and dismissive with the exception of the "Pool/sunbed Man" who was both helpful and smiled! Other staff could learn from this. Cypriot freinds were also of the same opinion. There was little or no entertainment at any time, pool bar closed early, despite very hot weather. Other hotel bars were uninviting and the decor was very 70s without being "retro". This hotel needs both a refurbishment and staff change. Our room whilst being in a good location was tired. Carpet stained, furniture worn and the overall impression was scruffy. Not a good experience and over priced. We observed the only time when staff were both interested and in great numbers was when a function took over the dining rooms and function area disruption guest use of these facilities. My wife who is vegetarian could not have chosen anything from the menus offered at any of the restaurants for the evening meals forcing us to eat out every night. We also found the invasion of locals around the pool area at the weekend suprising. If this is a 5 star hotel why do they allow this. We were also informed by guests that bags had been stolen from the pool and beach area. Whilst the beaches may be open to all, the hotel security should have been more evident around their private pool. Why were the public allowed to use this area? Lastly, our room key which provided both power and AC (average temps were 45 deg during daylight each day during our visit) were often removed by the cleaning staff and we then had to get replacement keys and have the lock reset which was time consuming and made us think that the room security was much less than it should have been. When the hotel staff were questioned about this they dismissed it as a mistake. Messages were left in our room which were not for us and when reception were informed they re-delivered the same message the next day! They just took no notice. A very poor experience in every aspect."
