"The Golden Tulip Flamenco hotel in Cairo is comfortable, but that's it. The rooms are in need of complete refurbishment, paint was peeling off our bathroom ceiling, the tile grouting needed redoing and the fixtures & fittings had a very tired appearance. Couple this with some very eccentric electric wiring, very poor lighting and a threadbare carpet, and you have The Golden Tulip Flamenco.
Reception, Restaurant, Coffee Shop and other public areas were light and airy with marbled flooring, but the bar was poky, lobby toilets filthy and elevators small and slow. The whole hotel needs money invested to bring it up to scratch, and I shall not be staying there again until that has been done.
It's in a quieter suburb of Cairo (which isn't saying much) and has a Pizz Hut directly opposite next door to a McDonald's - which I hadn't expected in a Muslim country - otherwise dining out means a taxi ride, and Cairo taxis are not recommended!"

"Top tips? If you're looking for a sedate and dull hotel, this is for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere."

"My fiancee and I only stayed there for 1 night on our way back from Sharm before getting a flight from Cairo back to Heathrow the following morning. We arrived at the hotel at 8pm and left at 6am so didn't really have time to explore.

We had a nice meal in the restaurant showered and went straight to bed. The shower and bedroom was nice and the people working there were helpful. We got a taxi fine to the airport in the morning. All in all a nice clean hotel which did the job for us even though it was a little bit of a drive from the aiport in the evening rush hour, in the morning the journey was half the time."
