"The place to go for Arabian holidaymakers,so learn some Arabic! But good food (slow service), reasonable price and great location to stay in, although all "tourist" site completely the opposite end of Alex, a huge but beautiful place."
Top Tip:
"We never used the beach next to the hotel but apparently the one just a bit further around to the West is cheaper and just as good.

Don't tell the taxi drivers you are going to the hotel, it is expensive so will their price be, say you are going to the Montazah palace, agree a price and then tell the gatekeepers you are staying at the hotel (no charge then).

Hire a LOCAL taxi for the day to get around everywhere, although you may need to speak Arabic or as we found French/German. Also make sure you go to the main train station at Masr if you are traveling as such."

"Service was a bit slow around the pool area, apart from that was a lovely hotel. One thing they could check is the entrance/exit steps from the sea both of us cut our feet both times when exiting. The sea food soup is a must from the room service menu."
Top Tip:
"The Sheraton just outside the palace grounds does really good cocktails. As most guide books will say the sea food market restaurant the other end of the town is a great meal and very well priced."

"The hotel sits on a magnificent site within the bounds of the royal palaces in Alexandria. The hotel's amenities are outstanding with its private access to the beach. There are a variety of restaurants, bars and coffee shops, a reasonable swimming pool and a private access to the beach.
In summer the City of Alexandria is a very popular holiday destination and thus the city and the hotel suffer from overcrowding. The hotel is situated in a large park (Almuntaza) that attract a large number of people during day time and the evening. In the sumer months,the hotel is excellent for a short stay, but longer stay may be spoiled by noise and crowding that make it difficult for those who wish to relax and rest."
Top Tip:
"Hotel bars, restaurants and coffee shops operate a minimum charge policy for all customers, but if you tell them that you are a resident the minmum charge will be waived."

Location

The rooms are of a good size and have been carefully and attractively decorated. All offer a good standard of accommodation.

The restaurant is pleasantly furnished in traditional style and serves a good standard of both international and local cuisine.

The hotel is in a large block building, facing the sea on a small peninsular.

On account of its history, this hotel is one of the most famous in the country. There is a private beach for clients and the hotel is only a few minutes' walk from the Kings Palace. (06/08 ME)
