"The Hermes is a lovely and well kept hotel with very helpful staff.

It is a 10 minute walk up steps from the town, which keeps you fit, but would not really suit older people - that said, being uphill provides wonderful views across Mykonos Town and you are not far from the action.

There is a great thai restaurant over the road from the hotel, but otherwise there are no bars or restaurants nearby and the hotel does not serve snacks during the day, which can make lunch times a problem. That said, breakfast is served until 11am, rooms have a full sized fridge and the hotel are happy to lend crockery and cutlery.

I loved the hotel and would definately recommend it."

"The hotel was excellant, everything we hoped it would be. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms all have excellant views of the bay and Mykonos Town, even our room which was on the ground floor. Breakfast was repetative, but there was plenty of choice, something for everyone. The view from the breakfast room and pool area was out of this world. Standards were high. There was a lovely lounge area with free internet access.
If there were any drawbacks it would be that the hotel is situated on a hairpin bend and so you got some noise from the road. Mopeds being the most favoured form of travel in Mykonos can be quite noisy. The other thing was that it was quite a hike down into town, it says 5 min's in the brouchure but its more like 15 min's downhill, and of course what goes down has to come up, the climb back up is not for the faint hearted. After two days we solved the problem by walking down and getting a taxi back from the harbour, at 3euro's it was well worth it. There are buses out of the town, and although there is a bus stop near the hotel we were told you can't actually alight the bus at that stop only get on. The buses are good though and there seems to be a set fare of 1.20euro wherever you are going. Wee would certainly recommend the Hermes Hotel."
