"I have stayed at the this hotel many times. I foyu want luxury then probably go elsewhere, if you want friendliness, a practical base and somewhere decent then this is great! It is very central and ideal if you plan to use the local ferry to transfer to the West Bank. La Flambouyant the French restaurant within the hotel is very good - you must try the crepes suzette which are cooked at your table!

The breakfast buffet will cater all needs from cereal, breads, pastries, to omlettes, crepes and felafal!

The staff are exceptionally friendly and nothing is too much trouble - they will always try to accomodate your needs."

"This hotel is excellent. Good quality, clean, friendly staff and excellently situated
overlooking the Valley of the Kings, if you get a Nile view room you can watch the sun set over the Valley of the Kings, which is quite spectacular. It is right next to the market too, and between Luxor and Karnak Temples."

"i have stayed at this hotel many times in the last five years i find it is the best hotel in luxor so central to everything the staff are always fantastic the food is great with 4 resturants in the hotel and room service 24hrs a day. It got a bank on site to change your currency and a bank machine to withdraw cash. It has an in house doctor who is extremely efficient and takes excellent care of you if you are unwell and is available to you at a very low cost 24hrs a day. The pool area is great with the entertainment officer ali playing volleyball in the pool and many other events. THe music in the bar at night is great with in house musicans wheed and maha. Maha has a fab voice and sings in english and of course egyptian songs with she incourages you to dance. The hotel is very well managed and spotlessly clean the food is beautiful i have never had a bad meal at the mercure etap coralia i love this hotel and the staff too. I should be back to luxor in october staying again at this wonderful hotel and so looking forward to it . kind regards 5 star hotel."

"The hotel was pleasant and clean, the staff very helpful and polite always eager to please.

The rooms were clean and airy, sheets and towels changed every couple of days and kept very clean and tidy.

A bit further out of the town than we originally thought, however, much quieter with a Nile view, so probably can't have both!"

"Hi
Paid an additional £480.00 GBP when we arrived to upgrade to 2 suites aswe did not get a double room as requested on the initial booking. Room 1 (401) was far superior to room (402) although they charged me the same for both - felt dissapointed that they took the mickey with the second room - no where near as good- we are returning to Luxor in March with many family and friends and unfortunatley will not stay here as we had planned as I can not garuntee the quality of the suites o our family and friends - Great shame as the staff are great - and the views are stunning !!! dont like being taken for granted,a slight reduction and explanation on quality of 2nd room would have gone a long way. so dont just pay LOOK first, we were only shown 401 initally."

"This was my second time here, very handy for central Luxor and with friendly staff. Two main gripes. First, the rooms were never properly cleaned. Under the bed was minging with dust etc from what must have been weeks of accumulation. Secondly, although the breakfast food range is large it is very unimaginative, with the hot food in particular being poor.
However, for the price and the location there is little to beat it, and I would certainly stay there again."

"Our room had a very nice view of the nile and was a good size. However the only comment on this hotel would be the food was not good. We ordered room service the evening we arrived and it was awful. Would advise to eat outside the hotel. All other amenities were good."

"This hotel was such a nice surprise for us! It's lovely!! nice big pool, very friendly staff, room was huge, bed was the biggest i've ever seen :-) It was so so enjoyable!!! It's right by the river. Luxor Temple is only 5 mins walk away. We walked to Karnak Temple but you could take a horse taxi for cheap really. (it's not THAT near.... about 30mins in the hot sun) visit Luxor Temple later in the evening & see it in transformed in the night. It's amazing & you don't have to any more for it."

"Excellent location close to the Nile, easy access to Carnack, Luxor Temple, Ferry,Luxor Museum, bazaar and local restaurants. Excellent facilities, staff very attentative, plenty of hotel eating choice, enjoyed themed restaurant menu, eg. French, Italian etc. Bedroom size very good with fridge, tv with plenty of english channels, good size ensuite and plenty of storage area. Towel and bed sheet change every day. Pool area very inviting with plenty of sunbeds, pool heated even in winter.
Drawback: with Nile view rooms slight drone of Nile Cruise Ships when berthed overnight. Would certainly recommend the Mercure Luxor 4 star Hotel at 2 star prices through Travel Republic, who is also an excellent company to deal with."

"It was rather busy for my liking with lots of noisy families. My room was quite OK but on the 2nd floor and if you wanted to sleep early you had to be able to forget the noise from the disco below which seemed to go on till 2 or 3 in the morning. Luckily not every night!"

"The staff at this hotel are first class - friendly, welcoming and efficient. The pool area is very attractive and gardens are immaculate however the tiles inside the pool could probably be cleaned more thoroughly. The foyer, bars and restaurants are well appointed and the food is of a good standard. However the bedrooms and bathrooms (if all are the same as ours -217) are in urgent need of refurbishment. The fixtures and fittings are in need of updating and the bathrooms need to be replumbed and retiled. The beds are very comfortable and the linens and towels were changed everyday."
