"I was the only english person in the hotel. very little english spoken by staff. No announcements in english.entertainment at night very poor. The worse holiday i have been on. the islands barron .Pestered all the time when out. Did not feel safe when out side the hotel. The beach littered with plastic bottles & general rubbish Will never go there again."

"Accomidation was pretty basic, however the food and AI facilities were good.
99% of the other guest's are Italian and accordingly all of the shows, kids clubs and entertainment was presented in Italian. There was no attempt to present any of the entertainment in English."

"The hotel was Italian run and hardly any of the staff spoke English. Whilst this was not a problem for us there were a couple of other British people there who were complaining bitterly about the lack of English. You need to warn British holidaymakers that this is the case.
The hotel had plenty of facilities to warrant a four star rating, but the room was quite basic. There was a TV, but it was a small portable which did not have any English channels so was completely useless for us. There was a small refrigerator but this was empty! We were given two small bottles of water at the start of our stay but no replacements. House keeping was good, but we did have cockroaches in the room on a couple of occasions. These were swiftly dealt with, but there is obviously a problem there.
The food was OK but spoiled because it was cold!"
Top Tip:
"We visited the island looking for property investment, so we were not bothered by the fact that there is a huge amount of construction underway and the island is very dusty. You need to warn holidaymakers about this fact."

The Bravo club Vila Do Farol features 234 rooms in one storey bungalows set in lovely gardens along a beautiful white sandy beach 1 kilometre from the main town of Santa Maria. With the location of this resort it makes for a very relaxing holiday combined with the many activities on offer, a holiday for all ages.
