"Central Hotel does exactly what it says on the tin.
Lovely hotel, very clean, staff were welcoming & very helpful. Breakfast was continental consisting of bread, ham and cheese, cereal, yoghurt and fruit, tables were well presented & clean. You could actively see the care & attention put into the hotel. Very quite location inside & out. Only 5-10 minutes from the beach. Supermarket & international telephone shop on site. Rooms with A/C, fridge & balcony, ours even had a washing line, bonus. Bathroom clean & cleaned daily, towels & sheets changed daily.
Sometimes the water pressure was low, especially in the mornings & sometimes the water never quite ran a balanced hot or cold.
Not suitable for elderly people as there is a beautiful central staircase that winds staright up the middle of the hotel, a lot of stairs, hehe.
Overall a definite 9/10 hotel."
Top Tip:
"The BEST restaurant on the island? GO TO CRISTALS. About a 3 minute walk from the Central Hotel. The restaurant feels like someones front room converted into a a large dining room, very clean & well presented. The food? We found this restaurant after 4 nights and wished we'd found it sooner. Try the battered chicken, pork or fish Cristal style. Large portions and spectacular taste. Cooked from scratch by one woman in the kitchen. Very cheap prices for quality food and drinks. Staff do not speak any English, but very helpful, patient and polite. Welll worth checking out, you'll be back there every afternoon & evening, guaranteed!! And best of all? NO FLIES, even in the afternoons!!"

"The maid asked us in Portuguese for deposit for the safe, only to find out from the reception staff, there was no need for payment. The front door was locked sometimes we were left outside for upto 10mins"

"The hotel was clean with loads of hot water and central to the main street and beach. Ideal for those who do not want the tagged "All Inclusive" experience! Speaking the local language did help!"
Top Tip:
"Chez Pastis restaurant and Tam Tam Bar. For more local fun try Rasta Bar - but watch the price you are charged."

"Very good value for money . Clean and basic but all you need as you only sleep there,"
Top Tip:
"Beach superb. Go to Tam Tam a friendly Irish owned cafe bar. The street traders always torture new tourists but when you are there for a few days you will learn how to politely ignore them. They all sell the same goods."
