"I stayed at the Ponteo Hotel. The majority of the staff are friendly even if they do not speak clear english you can get by and the manager Edson is very approachable. The accomodation within the rooms is very good and the cleaning service excellent, with daily change of towells bedding as required. I would suggest that people take an enviromental approach to the latter. The breakfast is also very good with variety eg fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, cheese, breads and cakes, cereal, omlette, toast and jams etc. i was on the side that faced the pirata club and was fine with earplugs. those facing the pool had no problems. the pool is okay but could do with a few new sunbeds. As in most places in Santa Maria there is a fair amount of construction work , so if it's peace in the day you want go to the beach, just be firm with sellers on the beach."
Top Tip:
"The ZUM FISHERMAN RESTAURANT AND BAR opposite the hotel serves a wide variety of fresh fish meals, which are excellent. The staff are friendly and the restaurant have a local creole band playing several evenings per week. The Morebeza Hotel happy hour 6.30-7.30 great bar, scenary/views, caprhina, beer and wine all half price."

"Although there was nothing to do at the hotel, it made a good base. The rooms were cleaned everyday, breakfast worth getting up for, had the pool to ourselves when we went for a swim. Only about 6 sunbeds functional, but so close to beach, not a problem."
Top Tip:
"Best restaurant was Chez Petize, wonderful Italian food. Very small, so good idea to book the night before. For a quick bite on the beach, the first van past the pier( on the right), bacon & cheese roll & small beer, great price and lovely people."

This is a small recently built hotel, with friendly Cape Verdean management in a very convenient location just 250 yards from the beach and the jetty with the fish market. The transfer from Sal International Airport to the hotel lasts 15 minutes.

Accommodation

All the rooms at the hotel are tastefully decorated in a fresh, bright style. Each room has air conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, fridge bar, balcony and private shower room. There are suites for 2 to 4 people, of which some have bedroom, bathroom, and slightly separate sitting area which can accommodate a third person, and some others are located on top floor and have 2 bedrooms, sitting room and bathroom.

Food & Beverage

Breakfast is served in the first floor breakfast room from 0730 to 1030, and there is also a small bar area. Although there is no restaurant within the hotel, guests booking half board have a choice of two restaurants called Funana and Americos located one close by the beach and the other in the town. The restaurants are open from 07:30 to 22:00.

Sports & Leisure

The swimming pool and surrounding sun terrace provide the perfect spot to relax and the nearest beach is only 200 meters away.

Essential Entry Information

On entry into Cape Verde, you must obtain a visitors visa at the port of entry.
