James from London reviewed the Alexia and Studios Hotel
"The reason I have given this a above average rating is that the staff at the hotel were very pleasant and extremely helpful. I had problems with a tooth while on holiday, &, as I was travelling independantly, the hotel reception phoned an English speaking lady, who not only got an emergency dental appointment for me, but also came & picked me up & took to the dentist.
I had a self catering room and was adequate for the light cooking done.Contained a fridge which was a godsend. Large balcony from room.
I undersatnd their will be a decoration programme set in motion this winter so next year the hotel will look a lot fresher. "
Top Tip:
"Ideal position for the younger person as at the bottom of "Bar Street" which goes on until at least 3 a.m "
Diana from Lancing reviewed the Alexia and Studios Hotel
"We were on the 3rd floor of the hotel and there was a very efficient lift operating at all times. It was quite noisey at night due to the proximity of clubs but I knew this was the case before booking. I like to hear people enjoying themselves and if it became intrusive we closed the windows and doors it didn't bother us at all. The staff were friendly and helpful and the young man I took with me fell in love with the receptionist."
Top Tip:
"I loved the beach which was called the windy beach. I do not like sand and this beach had smooth pebbles, lively water and the "Breeze". There was a large selection of bars and restaurants close by who catered for the disabled young man I took with me so that I did not need to trek to Pizza Hut everyday. A very helpful local trip booking agent was situated just over the road."
john from wallsend reviewed the Alexia and Studios Hotel
"very good hotel rooms cleaned everyday spotless . we thought above all else the staff were most friendly and helpful .all in all we would recommend this hotel as we will be going back in the future."
Top Tip:
"recommend the ancient flame restaurant only five minutes walk from hotel food and staff are brilliant very reasonable too.for a drink you must go to the peacock run by george and maria .he plays some brilliant rock concerts what a character."
Martyn from Newbiggin by the Sea reviewed the Alexia and Studios Hotel
"Ten minutes to the Old Town with plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants on the doorstep. The breakfast was more suited to the German/Dutch market with their usual cheese meat and cakes on offer. Toast scrambled egg (it was YUK!) and hotdogs were also available from 7-10am. Rooms were clean and were cleaned daily although the bathrooms could do with a revamp.
No pool so if you use the beach beware we got covered in oil off the pebbles which was not easy to spot and it does not wash of your clothes (have since read it comes from passing ships!)"
