"First time in Skiathos, travelled with my 15 year old son...he was happy enough but would have preferred some additional activities at the hotel, as only table tennis and billiards available. Hotel was clean, very friendly staff, however they did not meet us at the airport on our arrival and we also had to get a taxi back at the end of holiday (due to influx of stranded holiday makers who needed transporting to airport). Hotel is in a good location, but quiet, just a few minutes walk to the beach, which is wonderful with the famous shimmering water...water taxi to skiathos town very regular and reasonable, but we also travelled around by taxi and bus; we also wandered around on foot whenever we could...even as a single female with a 15 year old I felt very safe at all times. As it was coming to end of season, the taverna linked to the hotel had a 20% reduction on the menu, and we had a couple of good meals there, complete with a free dessert one evening. Portobello's and Niko's in Skiathos offered up some great food, and sitting in the open air cimema was a novel experience. There was an invasion of mossies due to a torrential downpour the week before we arrived, which were a nuisance, and quite a few wasps that seemed at home at the taverna on the beach, but overall it was a great introduction to the Greek Isles and I would not hesitate to return."
