"We had a good time. The Hotel was in an excellent location in a pretty village, Machico. Very near the Airport, but only heard 1 plane a day, early in morning arriving. Good local bus into Funchal. Food in Hotel, quite good. Breakfast was really good and the salad bar was very good at lunch and Dinner. Food would get boring after 7 days on all inclusive. Evening entertainment was quite good considering it was catering for ages ranging from 30's up to over 60's. Everyone was up dancing most nights. We would definately return as real value for money. The rooms do need a hairdryer, you have to get one from reception, every time you need one. It was a pain."

"White Waters Hotel is a new hotel that is absolutely lovely. The owners are so kind and can't do enough to help and the staff were all friendly and efficient. The hotel is very tastefully decorated in a minimalist style - gorgeous tiles in the ground floor toilets and shop! The rooms have varying sizes of balconies, unfortunately ours only had a 'shelf' with a chair, but some others had a good size. Although it says there is air-conditioning in the rooms, there isn't yet. Apparently they are waiting for a particular part to arrive to get it up and running. This did make the nights quite hot in the room as if you open the window, you get street noise. But we asked for a fan and this helped a bit. Although Machico is a small village, the hotel overlooks a small roundabout where there are parking spaces so although the area isn't big and bustling like Funchal, you do get people chatting there at all times in the night, plus the early morning flights out of the airport can disturb your sleep. The sun terrace on the roof would have benefitted from a small splash pool or even just a shower spray so that you could cool off during sunbathing without having to go back to your room. (The beach is very pebbly so if you want to go in the sea you probably need beach shoes to protect your feet!) But overall, a great hotel, small and friendly. Highly recommended."
