"Not really a 4 star hotel - i'd say 3 star. Food was quite good but there wasn't much choice for a hotel that size. Location and outside areas very attractive. Room was a good size and clean."

"The food was a bit boring: salads were OK but fish and meat dishes left something to be desired. We were on half board, and after a couple of days taking dinner we switched to taking lunch in the hotel and went out in the evenings - there are one or two good restaurants within easy walking distance."

The Colonial Mar hotel is an awe inspiring intricate complex with a tropical design that is perfect for all types of vacationers. The hotel has two swimming pools that are surrounded by palm trees and have a beautiful view of the sea. The hotel boasts a delicious restaurant, bars, and comfortable rooms. The Colonial Mar is located on the beach, is 800 m from downtown, and 32 km from the Almeria airport.
