Excellant accommodation, excellant and varied food, good facilities. However, the resort closes at the end of October, and the local facilities outside the hotel such as bars & restaurants seem to start to close after the middle of October. If planning a trip from say the 15th October onwards, be aware that facilities such as Kids Club may be closed, some of the hotel restaurants not in use, and that you need to stay full board or AI, as there may not be anywhere else outside the hotel to eat. The hotel let itself down when we stayed (23rd to 31st Oct 09) by not having the internal air conditioning or ventilation working. This made the rooms very hot and stuffy at night.
Stay All Inclusive for best value. The hotel supplied beer (Estrelle Damm) is better than San Mig, and the hotel supplied local spirits are the same strength as UK domestic spirits. Food was excellant and varied, although the restaurant may be crowded at peak times. Be advised that Menorca seems to have a general fly problem in October. This is no reflection on the clenliness of the hotel, as the flies were everywhere. They do not bite, but are extremely irritating constantly landing on you!!
Beautiful complex, friendly staff, great facilities for adults and children. Everywhere lovely and clean and tidy. Apartment very good size and with every convenience.
No train running to S'Algar in October but a nice walk along the seafront and good shops and restaurants when you arrive.
S'Algar the resort and the S'Algar hotel where lovely, though both extreamly quiet.
The pictures you see on the web-site are not exaggerated it is what you see.
For a short break it was perfect, as there are only two hotels, two bars and two small shops, the rest of the village is built of small villas and appartments and is really clean.
The food in the hotel was good and no shortage for buffet meals, drinks where expencive though, in the hotel.
So if you want peace and quiet and be able to relax and read a good book would definitely recommend S'Algar resort and hotel.
No beach near hotel you have to walk for 15 mins round a very rocky path but the small coved beach is well worth a visit.
The lido at the front of hotel was lovely for watching the sea and all the boats.
Take a trip on the local bus to the city of Mohan EXCELANT, but be aware there are about 8 flights of steps down to the harbour, but well worth the trip.
