Surrounded by pleasant tropical gardens, these two hotels were built in 1986 and refurbished in 2005. There are a total of 795 double rooms and 96 family suites spread over two 16 storey buildings. As facilities there are 8 lifts, a 24h reception desk, buffet-restaurant, 2 bars: one in the lobby and another in the pool area, lounge with satellite TV and internet acces at the lobby. The hotels offer two large freshwater pools with separate area for the children and spacious sun terraces with sunbeds and parasols surrounded by subtropical gardens. All guests have free admission to the saltwater lake next to the hotel which offers terrace areas, umbrella and sunbed service. The diving school and other water sports with specialist instructors are upon request and with charge. Also available, a children's playground, coin-operated washing machines and driers, a souvenir shop and free parking.

The hotel was excellent in all aspects. The a la carte restaurants in particular were superb, we used the Mexican, Asian and Italian, and were very impressed with them all. The staff are all friendly and helpful. We liked the help yourself bar for wines and spirits, which we had not seen before in other all inclusive hotels. The adults only infinity pool was suitable for those who like a quiet time, but the main pools are great for families and those who enjoy participating in the animation activities.

Top Tip A nice wee bar at the bottom of the street on the u-bend, overlooking the sea and with a great view of La Gomera. Very reasonable too - 4.40 euros for a pint of lager and a glass of wine.

It's a basic, clean, good value, all inclusive hotel.
Food is OK - there's always something edible.
Great for younger kids - good entertainment for them. Entertainment staff enthusiastic.
Lifts are a bit bouncy!
Try to get top floor room - best for getting lifts down (they fill up).
The saltwater lagoon is good if cold.
Staff are mostly very friendly.
Ask for a picnic if you are out for the day.

Top Tip Hire a car from airport from Autoreisen (book on-line first)
Buy twin ticket for Siam Park and Loro Parque
Go to Siam Park (hide any food you take in).
Go to Loro Parque and buy more discount tickets for Siam
Go up Tiede
Go back to Siam Park. Go on Saturday as it's quieter - no queuing
