"The hotel rooms don't have great view. At check in we were given room with small Juliet balcony and view to the small shoping street and near hotel windows were just oposite. I asked for better view, but there was no. We ask for room with view to the swiming pool at least to have a quiet room. There were no instructions for how to use the telephone, so we just tryed and was 9 to speak with Reception. However, we were happy of the hotel as it was very clean and staff was very nice. Swiming pool is very small, but perfect for us, as we are not great swimmers. If the hotel is full, would be too croudy there, as is one pool for both hotels Bambi and Astoria. The hotel was very quiet, nothing was open and at the begining I was not very happy to see this, but we didn't saty so much in doors any way, so it was fine. After the day we checked out there was going to be a Piano Concert in the Hotel foyer. The Restaurant was not impersive, but the owners - Romanian couple were very friendly and we got to know them better. We would recomend the Romanian specialities. The breakfast was a bit disappointing some days, whne no one of the owners was there, but just the waitress. Overall, we enjoed our stay a lot. We loved the atmosphere in Puerto de la Cruz. We rented a car and saw almost the whole ireland. Most people think is better on south, but we would definitely go back to Puerto de la Cruz."
Top Tip:
"Very near to the center, where you can find lots of Resaturants and shops. Most Restaurants have almost the same menu. Try the local fish grilled. The potatoes Canarian stile. The Canarian sauces - green and red. Coffees with some liqueur. Very nice small shops with hand made clothes and accessories. Local people are not really into tourist, so try to speak some Spanish, they would appreciate it. To be honest at the end we realise is better to have this sort of people, than the tipical tourist atmosphere. Very near to Supermarcet and Shopping Centre, as well as small streets with small cafees, restaurants and shops. Near to the beach, but we didn't go there for sunbatting, as we wanted something with sand. Our favourit beach is Playa las Teresitas, near Santa Cruz (30km by car). Driving is very easy. Roads are very good, even if some of them look so high in the mountain, I didn'y think at first I woulod go there (I was in my 13th week pregnant). "Nicedecor.Weekend road noise from local disco.Basic breakfast with disorganised service.Convenient for lido but not for bus or Playa Jardin.Spotlessly clean.Pleasant reception with helpful staff."
