The hotel was out of town which we liked, however was only 2 minutes walk from a metro station which took approx 15 mins to get into the centre of town. Very good breakfast. Approx 25 mins from the airport by taxi which cost between 22 and 26 euros. We found Barcelona very easy and inexpesive to get around.

Usually stay in top 5 star hotels and this one has the best staff that I have ever encountered. All with perfect English and cannot do enough for you. Everyone staying at hotel was extremely impressed. Beautiful restaurants, bars etc in hotel in fact so much so that we didn't end up doing much sightseeing as didn't want to leave the luxury of the hotel

For the price paid, we were expecting a lot more. Location is great - about a 20 minute walk down the (at points, nude) beach to the city, which was fun. Comfortable bed and great shower. Room decor left a lot to be desired. Some of the front desk staff were absolutely outstanding, and others seemed to not really care about their job or about helping guests (such as the evening we called three times to request 2 wine glasses to be brought up, and after being told on the third time to be more patient, the wine glasses never turned up). If you can get a bargain on this hotel for less than EUR100, then go for it. Otherwise, might be wise to look elsewhere.

The rooms were cold at night and there were not enough blankets and no duvets. When asked for additional blankets the reception after being asked twice did bring some. The breakfast was very good and had an excellent choice, something for everyone. The meal I had in the bar was good although expensive, but a colleague returned his for not being cooked!

This is pretty much what you'd expect from a 4star city hotel. Hotel was in a great location, however the room requests made when booking this hotel were totally ignored, which was very disappointing given it was a surprise birthday present. The room we were given was really very small and dark and having requested a non-smoking room were given a smoking room on a smoking floor (not ideal when one of you is asthmatic)! I'd stay here again but only if I got a better room (apparently the double rooms are bigger)!

The rip off of this hotel and even the whole of cities in Spain is the parking fee. Some places do charge 27 Euros for a day even if you are a guest of the hotel. The rooms were very clean and very well located. Enjoyable experience though

It was really good value and a good location for transport. It is obviously used by Israelis. There was a sign in Hebrew at the entrance to the dining room instructing diners not to take food out of the restaurant at breakfast. That didn't stop us. Breakfast was a feast.

The room smelt. The toilet door did not close - it did not shut past half way! We were not told that we would have to pay to park our car. There was not any sound on the pay per view television. The smoke alarm detector flashes continuously, rendering sleep impossible as it is like trying to sleep in a room with a lighthouse!

The hotel I stayed in was falsely advertised to be in the Barcelona city center and it was far from, it was on average 50 euros for a taxi fare to the hotel from the city center and although it had trains going there the service did not run later in the evening. Also once we arrived at the hotel I had to be changed rooms 3 times before I could settle and enjoy my stay!!!

This was nice looking modern hotel with some great design features, some a little odd perhaps. Great price, though this reflected the location far out of the city centre. The metro stop is a five minutes walk away (a little up hill on way home) and nearest restaurants about the same, though the majority are 10/15 minute walk away in Sarria centre. Great value and an excellent choice if you want a modern design hotel without the Barcelona prices - but not in the thick of things if that is what you want.

I found this hotel below average for a typical Holiday Inn Express hotel. Its off the main city. Yoiu need to take a train from Barcelona (22 mins) and then walk for 8-10 mins. Around the hotel there are no other facilities as its located in a industrial region. There is fortunately a super market within 3-5 min walking distance. The hotel staff are pretty dull / but do speak reasonalbly understanding english. The rooms were reasonable, clean and neat as expected from the Holiday Inn Group standards. There is no lunch / dining capability, as there is no cook in this hotel. If you are unfortunate to stay the whole day, u r dinner plans are ruined. Theres nothing in the hotel. the staff ll tell u, u can buy some frozen stuff and use their microwave. The breakfast is suboptimal as well. No hot items, just bread/ milk/croissants / juices. very basic indeed. A good place to stay if your intentions are just to use the bed and light breakfast and spend the rest of the day in Barcelona. But if u plan to stay and have some leisure moments in the hotel... this is not the best option ... think twice... u ll be bored to death.

The hotel was beautiful, in particular the pool area. Most of the staff were friendly however the receptionist that greeted us was very unfriendly and made us feel barely welcome. Other comments of note - the theme park next door is noisy. Not unbearable but it's there, there's no denying it. Also - if you're looking for romance, note that this hotel is popular with corporates and you may end up having to listen to a company presentation over breakfast.

The hotel rooms walls are as thin as paper - I could hear everything, especially footsteps in the room above. The reception staff were quite odd at times. Not the nicest of locations in Barcelona but was close where we needed to be. Definately a 'business trip' hotel.

It was a good quality hotel in Barcelona for the price we paid. It is a 4 star hotel but in need of a lot of work and "cosmetic surgery". Not very child friendly as there were no high chairs in the restaurant. Reception stuff very friendly and helpful, but can't say that about all of the restaurant stuff. Although safety box in the room was free, they didn't have a key to one in our room so had to caryy all our money and documents with us. Generally, hotel was not too bad but we'll try to find another one next time we go to Barcelona.

Having spent most of the day in the City Centre we got back late and hence missed breakfast so being able to make a drink in the room would have been nice. I stayed at the Medium Confort Hotel Sept 22nd - 25th 09 on a short break to Barcelona. The street and area is pleasant and safe with pavement cafes, bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity . It is next door to a very good supermarket for basics, toiletries, alcohol, food, snacks or anything you may have forgotten. Avenue Diagonal runs parallel a stone's throw away for a taste of sophisticated retail therapy and a pleasant tree lined walk; and buses are very close by for a short ride across town or into the centre for La Rambla and Placa de Catalunya. Hotel reception staff are very helpful if you need to know how to get around and are on duty 24/7. The hotel is clean, modern and has an intimate feel to it. The roof terrace is open all day for guests but only serves breakfast - although coffees can be bought at other times from a vending machine. I didn't have breakfast in the hotel but it is only 5 Euros per person ...so if you are booking a holiday package and want to 'eat in' - it's cheaper at the hotel itself. My double room was clean and modern and a comfortable size, with no signs of 'wear and tear' as was the bathroom. ( hairdryers are supplied and basic toiletries) Smoking rooms are available. It had a small tv with access to CNN and BBC World service for English speakers. Amenities include parking ( I am not sure if you are charged but there is a garage) and free use of internet in reception. The downside of this hotel..and it may be due to the room you are allocated..is the noise. My room - 136 - was the first at the top of the stairs from reception - (or from the lift ) - and the walls were paper thin! So much so that I became intimately acquainted with the bathroom habits of my 'neighbour' through the wall. I was also woken daily by the sounds of the hotel - guests leaving early or coming back late or cleaners, hotel staff and housekeeping starting their day. (I didn't ask to move as I was only there 3 nights, and being a smoker and a single traveller I figured my choice would be limited. ) Would I stay there again? -Yes for the reasonable price ( ( I booked through Travel Republic for £60 a night for single use of a double room) - and for ease of getting around and a safe, easy area to stay in - BUT only if I could be guarenteed a less noisy stay!

The hotel was really of a poor quality. Everything was old: furniture, bedding, towels (very used), bathroom, the wall painting. The paint on the ceilling in the bathroom was peeling off. The room was ney small. there was just one chair, no table so can eat. there was no kettle to make a cup of tea but we managed to borrow one from the recpetion. I think the kettle is quite essential. The service was nice, always with a smile.

We had a great city break! The hotel is very special & grand. The pool area was great on the roof - even though the water was a bit cold. The lobby/bar area is very warm and intimate and proved to be a nice area to chill out late in the evening. The restaurant is fantastic -the food was superb and reasonably priced, the staff here were also kind enough to accommodate us very late at night before the restaurant was due to close. Our room looked new every day after it had been cleaned and the staff were very polite & efficient.
