Hotel Reviews for Gerona

Need to use map and good set of directions since location is off main route. Hotel has good parking with shaded areas. There are spaces outside to have a drink or meal. Interior is well appointed and clean. Our superior double room was large and quiet. The restaurant has a good range of food and wines at reasonable prices. Quality of food was good. Staff were efficient and friendly. Some staff speak English: the person we dealt with at reception was charming. I would use this hotel again if I was looking for somewhere to overnight between Gerona and France.

The hotel was much better than we had imagined, so roomy and comfortable and set in beautiful grounds.It was quiet and we felt as though we had personal service all the time.However the description was Girona centre and it was quite remote and no where near Girona so we would not have been able to get there without a car.After looking briefly at Girona and its parking nightmare we were pleased that we were not in the centre!

Els Quimics is very clean, quite new, but, and there are quite a few. It is some distance from the centre/ old quarter (25 minswalk - 6 euro taxi). Whilst very clean it is basic- you have to ask for a kettle, you only get 4 yes 4 hangers for clothes.Nearby restaurants are not as good as the ones in the centre. There is a vast cleared building site behind presumably ready to build on. The front is opposite a 3 sided square of flats. If you are on the top floor you can see the hills behind. The single receptionist was very friendly and spoke excellent english. No I would not go back. Kevin & Sherry

Excellent accommodation. Rooms clean and modern. Located next to a large shopping mall with restaurants. Staff were VERY friendly. Free secure car parking. Did have a few problems with the room key not working, but it did not ruin the stay as staff were very apologetic and tried their best. Would stay here again.

The facilities at the Golf Peralada Hotel were superb. The Restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere and the food and service were excellent. A memorable short break. As non-golfers we did not feel at all out of place Definitely worth its 5* rating and no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone.

Despite what it says this is not a hotel it is twelve apartments with a cleaning lady coming in daily. It is also up a very steep hill or a huge stairway. Having said that on day3 we found by pure chance there is a public lift which cuts out most of the stairs but is not mentioned in any brochure. Also it stops at 20.00hrs which is a bit of a bind. The apartment we were in was nicely laid out and well kept but faced a huge wall on a very narrow srteet which made it extreemely noisy. On the plus side it is in the heart of the old city close to all the major attractions but I wouldn't go there again unless I knew I was getting an apartment overlooking the garden away from the street.

Lovely pool with fantastic views. Good value set price menu - it was great to be able to try authentic Catalan dishes. The village was very peaceful and the hotel seemed to be particularly suitable for a 'get away from it all' break.

This is a really nice Hotel dating from the early 1900s. It is a little way from the beach but with easy access for parking by beach and harbour. The staff were very helpful. We are in our top 60s early 70s but found access was OK for us. Thanks for your help with this booking.

Hotel only 15 minutes from Girona airport and in a quiet location. Not many guests staying while we were there, so it was a very peaceful experience. Dinner at 12 euros each including wine, water and bread was excellent. Would recommend for a short stay.

Very close to train/bus station. Room was just as described in photos. Didn't eat at the restaurant so cannot comment. Staff helpful. Able to walk to new and old parts of town easily. Bus from airport very easily accessible and about 20 mins journey time - only 2.4 euros one way. Overall a good hotel.

Hotel 10 mins from airport and very easy to find. In the middle of no where so need a hire car to get about. Wnt to watch the Spanish open golf so was perfect , both courses were stunning and Hotel was superb , service , cleanliness and space.

hotel peninsular was in an ideal location to explore girona, and near the bus station. plenty of shops and bars nearby. the hotel itself was very clean, hotel room was huge and very warm which was great as it was -2 outside. staff very friendly and helpful.

Ideal for what we wanted, near to the airport, easy to find and inexpensive. staff were helpful, the free hot drinks was a bonus. the downside was it was difficult to find our way by car into the centre of girona in the evening.

When arriving there was an issue with our booking. At one point it didn't like like we were booked in at all. The receptioist spend 30 minutes at least trying to sort it out. Also the transfer drop off point for hotel was not the best and it was not made that clear as to where we were meant to go. However the hotel was of a very good standard we very good facilities.
