"Although there was nothing to do at the hotel, it made a good base. The rooms were cleaned everyday, breakfast worth getting up for, had the pool to ourselves when we went for a swim. Only about 6 sunbeds functional, but so close to beach, not a problem."

"If you like being on your own and quiet this is the place to book. A reasonable distance from towns and tourist activities. Cape Verde is very under developed, if you want to see the Island as it has been for years and before it becomes spoilt by tourism go soon. To the south of the Island is Santa Maria, there are a few bars, hotels and restaurants there and a lot of building works. It will take a day to visit anything worth seeing and then you can lay back and enjoy the sun without feeling guilty that you should be going out to see things. The island is volcanic and barron. We found it to be the most amazing and special place."

"The Local motto was "No Stress" and if it had been any further "laid back" we would have fallen over!!! Our attitude to it all was "no stress, have another beer"!!! The animation team were superb and really got everybody to mix together!!! We were on first name terms with Italians, French and other nationalities, who we didn't always understand, but joined in with anyway!!!"

"The hotel is lovely, and friendly and well run. The restaurant was wonderful and we ate there almost every night! It's a shame they charge extra for everything - gym, (which is just 3 machines) etc. but if that was clear on booking it would have helped. Over all, though we were very happy."
