"Hotel is undergoing rennovation but this was not intrusive, pool was cool and the area around it is rather dated (hotel is probably 25+ years old). A peaceful retreat on the island from town with a regular boat service. The best breakfast we had in Egypt which sets you up for a hard day of sightseeing. Ask for rooms overlooking the West Bank - great views morning and evening and very peaceful - Staff very friendly and helpful - hotel rating takes into account where you are ie Egypt and travellers should not compare with say hotels in other parts of the world. It was comfortable and clean and until the Old Caterract Hotel (Sofitel) re-opens is certainly for us the No.1 choice"

"This was the second night's stay we booked at the Movenpick, with a night inbetween at Abu Simbel. We had another perfect day's stay here, and wish we had booked for longer."

"A good value-for-money hotel in the heart of Luxor. It doesn't claim to be anything it isn't, the rooms are clean and well-kept and the staff are helpful. It's above average for the type and price."
