Joseph L from Swindon reviewed the Pyramisa Isis Hotel
"Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, staff very friendly and the view of the Nile was breathtaking. Food was fairly average though and much cheaper in nearby restaurants. We dined at John and Johns several times, just across the street from the hotel. The trips organised by the hotels are more expensive, Balloon ride was £35, whereas locally it could be brought for £25.00. They expect tips for every little service, bear in mind their average wage is less than £30.00 per month. When buying in the bazzare never pay the price asked, always haggle, for example they might ask 60 egyptian when it may be only 5 or 10 egyptian."
Top Tip:
"You will need to buy plenty of bottled water, this can be purchased quite cheaply in small shop opposite hotel, John and Johns excellent restaurant, good food and good value. You can even get wine to take out, the Egyptian red is quite good. They even do sandwiches and rolls for day trips. Maxines restaurant also ok, slightly smaller but quite cheap"
Barry from Bradford reviewed the Pyramisa Isis Hotel
"Things didn't look good when we checked in and the two bedroom suite we booked was not what we got. We did however get two one bedroom junior suites next door to each other. As we had two young girls (11 & 13) it was a bit of a concern but the rooms were great, had a view of the Nile and had a chain and lock on the doors. The beds were massive, if a little firm, there was a fridge with small freezer area, a full bathroom and another loo with wash basin. The room service was great and excellent value and the shops around the base of the hotel were reasonable. The pools are mostly 8 feet deep and not really conducive for a relaxing soak but that said all in all its quite a good hotel and well worth the money. There is some work going on but it didn't impact on us at all. The staff were great and the hotel really doesn't need the cards in the room offering people 10% off or upgrade to a suite on their next visit if they write a review on Tripadvisor. "
Top Tip:
"Beware Viking Balloon company as they cancelled our balloon ride as we waited in the bus. The pilot managed to get himself on the wrong side of the Nile at the end of his first flight. As it was our last day there we couldn't reshedule and so missed out on what was to be the highlight of our trip."
Kathryn from Bath reviewed the Pyramisa Isis Hotel
"The room we were allocated 'city view' was absolutely unacceptable with tatty decor, faulty aircon and all night noise from the street when you finally did drop off to sleep 5am prayers through loud speakers ensured you were awake again (ear plugs provided no barrier - it was that loud). Luckily the Med Hotels rep (Ahmed) and the hotel were fantastic and gladly moved us to a beautiful room. Staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful and I cannot fault anything else. My complaint is more the lack of information regarding this, as if it was stated this was what city view meant I would have gladly paid a bit more to avoid this
"
Top Tip:
"The area was not really safe for women to venture out on their own, we got alot of hassle and stay away from British women who have married local men offerring to take us out 'safely' as apparently this rouse is often used"
Stephen from Poynton reviewed the Pyramisa Isis Hotel
"The hotel rooms are a little dated but the grounds are beautiful and the staff are helpful and friendly. The Nile corner suites have excellent views down the Nile."
Top Tip:
"We really enjoyed the hot air balloon trip. It was very tranquil - you hardly notice you are in the air. "
