  • "the hotelfood was not good and my children did not have breakfast at all ther due to the fact that it was not good. getting to the main town from the hotel in a taxi was a main problem and was very expensive. "

  • "Very friendly staff, large clean accomodation. Swimming pool was in need of some repairs to tiles and steps as several people sustained injuries in the pool. Food was good, and plentiful."

    "The free bus to sharks bay, was great, its a small chilled beach with excellent snorkelling to be had and free sun beds!"

  • "Food very good, attentive staff,very clean hotel, pool and poolside cleaned everynight,rooms looking a little tired needs a decorate but not to the extent that it spoiled anything. Hotel was mainly full off eastern european people very few english. A very enjoyable break Thank you "

  • "As soon as we arrived in the room we had to be asked to be moved to another as the room we were given stank of sewage. We were moved to another room promptly. The rooms were grubby as mosquito splats were all over the walls and it looked like a mosquito graveyard, they hadnt been cleaned off for quite some time. Also the water temperature was either cold or boiling, nothing in between. The food was ok, although it was the same day, after day, after day. Definately wouldn't stay here again as no real facilities nearby other than the hotels - gets a little boring after a while. As such getting a taxi to sharm and back in the evenings starts to get expensive"

Official Rating - 3* - Bed & Breakfast / Half Board / All Inclusive

Al Diwan is located in the beautiful Sharks bay area only 10 min drive to Neema bay and 20 min to old Sharm.. The hotel is built in typical Moorish style with well landscaped grounds. The hotel has a relaxed atmosphere with its gardens and spaces rooms. Guests will leave the Al Diwan having experienced the warm Egyptian hospitality in a traditional Arabic style.

Accommodation

The hotel has a total of 151 rooms divided into 14 rooms with one bedroom and a living room with a sofa bed with balcony overlooking the pool or the lush gardens; 37 rooms with a bed room and living room with a sofa bed also with balcony; 100 twin rooms some with balcony or panoramic windows. All rooms have satellite TV and fridge with individual air condition all and shower.

Food & Beverage

There are two mini restaurants in the hotel, the Doima restaurant buffet style and the Nubian village open air restaurant with buffet style in an authentic Nubian atmosphere. The hotel offers 2 bars, the 24 hours lobby bar and the pool bar and terrace.

All Inclusive Food & Drinks

The AI programme consists of breakfast (07:00-10:00), lunch (13:00-15:00) and dinner (19:00-21:30), all buffet style, served in the main restaurant. During meals whiskey, beer and wine are offered. Also at the disposal of the AI guests are two more restaurants; Dolma - Laialina, open air Nubian. Snacks such as pizza and sandwiches are available between 12:00 & 13:00 at the Dolma bar as well as tea & coffee time with English cake from 17:00-18:00. Locally produced alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks like spirits, soft drinks and mineral water are served by the glass at the bars from 10:00-22:00.

Sports & Leisure

At Al Diwan guest can play darts or backgammon or billiards. There are two outdoor swimming pools including a children’s pool. There is a diving centre within the hotel. Massage is available in the tent around the pool (with charge).

All Inclusive Sports & Entertainment

Leisure facilities at the hotel include billiards, an oriental show once weekly and DJ every day.

Chargeable Extras

Cocktails, fresh juices, imported alcoholic drinks and safety deposit boxes at the reception are available at a charge.

Facilities & Services

Concierge, safety deposit boxes with charge, on call doctor, laundry, valet service and car rental.

Useful Information on Distances

There is a shuttle bus from the hotel to the beach and from the beach to the hotel free and from the hotel to Neema Bay twice weekly free. The hotel is 5 km from the airport and 2 km from the beautiful Sharks bay beach with its excellent snorkelling or just relaxing on the beach.

Entry Requirements

On entry into Egypt, you must obtain a visitors visa at the port of entry, the fee is £10 (subject to change). Sharm El Sheikh is considered a free zone, due to being located in the Sinai Peninsula. Travel on excursions outside the peninsula, the visitor’s visa is a requirement. We recommend that you see your Medhotels rep on arrival, and they will assist you with obtaining the visa.
