  • "The apartments were clean and well kept but they were in need of a make over. The decor was very drab and dingy."

  • "Flights and transfers were excellent apart from an 8 hour delay on the way out due to a fuel leak!!! Alvorfeiras Apartments very spacious and well equipped. Furniture a bit tired but everything clean. Toilet flush could be upgraded! Lots of storage space. Air con. Good views as requested although we has a small balcony which was a bit cramped even for two people. No lift so not suitable for anyone with a medical problem. Nice gardens and two good pools. Bit of a walk to the beach but there is a courtesy bus 3 times a day. Alvor as lovely as ever. Quieter mid September. Beach just amazing and sea lovely and warm."

  • Top Tip:

    "Best place for red hot Chicken Piri Piri is the restaurant opposite Black Stove pub and up a few steps. Very basic - benches and awnings - lots of locals and ex pats eat there. E23.60 for two people with wine."

    "If struggle to walk beware , but very good Bus service and Taxis to get into Alvor, use service buses to visit other areas"

  • "Excellent service from travel republic - easy to manage booking and tickets etc. all arrived no problem. Would definitely recommend this site to friends.
    Booked 2 apartments but when arrived at hotel only had record of 1 so our 2 parties ended up being a long way from each other whereas we had requested apartments close to each other.
    Would not recommend the apartments - reception staff unfriendly and unhelpful, apartments dated, bar and entertainment appalling, long walk from beach etc. Feel over-rated and over-priced."

  • Top Tip:

    "Take care with hire car - ours got broken into but when we returned it we were told that this is common practice and happens all the time.
    Book restaurants in advance or else won't get in - would highly recommend 5 Quinas on beach and Alcaida, Green Door, Adega and Marafados in town (names as close as can remember!)."
