"I was originally booked into a studio room but was upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment so my comments would probably be different if I had got the room I had originally booked.
The apartment was pretty basic and in need of a bit of modernisation but for the money it was fine. No aircon though so in the height of summer would not be pleasant to sleep in.
It was a 15 - 20 minute walk to the beach at Praia Falesia but there is a tourist train which does a circuit so you don't have to walk.
You're a 2 minute walk to the main promenade of the Marina and there are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from.
The resort is very much geared towards the British market, particularly golfers."

"Stayed at the Algardia complex, which is not exactly a hotel, more a local letting agency letting apartments. The apartment was dated and a little tired, however it was very spacious and very clean. The complex cleaners, cleaned the apartment every day apart from Sundays. The complex swimming pool was also excellent. The location of the complex is only a very short stroll to the Marina, resteraunts and bars.
Overall we found the accomodation very good and had no complaints."

"we were very pleased with our accomadation , totally suited our type of holiday and were within walking distance of everything eg beach , marina , restaurants and shops ,would definetly recomend this accomadation and and we would return there too , the pool area was great too , the people were pleasnt too and great help from staff at reception"

"Was a bit worried that due to the cheapness of the apartment (£17 per person per night), that it might be infested with cockroaches etc, but apartment was lovely - just right for 2 girls, with small kitchen etc. It's a 5 min walk away from the main marina with all the bars and restaurants and had a supermarket 2 mins away, so we could buy lots of cheap wine for our aperitifs! Would def recommend for price and location. It's probably not a hotel for a romantic stay (there's only a small restaurant / bar on site, no gym etc), but for a girls weekend away, it's perfect"

"Algardia Marina Hotel was in a great location with really friendly and helpful staff. It was a short walk to the marina and a slightly longer one to the beach but both were easily accessible, which was beneficial as we didn't hire a car. The facilities, such as the pool, were always cleaned well as was the apartment we stayed in. The apartment had a lot of storage space so our suitcases could be put away as well as clothing! The kitchen was basic but it was clean and had nearly everything we needed (no kettle) so there was no problem there. The bathroom was really clean, and kept that way, and we were given fresh towels on a regular basis. Every other aspect of the apartment was just as good as those already mentioned and we were lucky enough to have a patio which got sun practically all day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Algardia Marina Hotel and we would return in future :)"
