"the hotel was cleaned daily, was very pleasent, but you needed to hire a car as it was a little out of the way,the pool was good and the people in reception were helpful."

"Club Cegonha was a nice Self Catering resort. The only real problem we encountered was the lack of produce and food available at the resort itself. The small "shop", if it could be called that, hardly even carried enough basic food. If you could'nt afford to hire a car then it was a £5 both way trip by Taxi to the local shops in Vilamoura which were 60% more dear than the local Supermarket. However the Supermarkets were 20 mins by car along the N125. You really do need to advice clients that a car is very important and needs to be included in their budget. There were a number of couples that arrived and became "un-stuck" and ended up walking for an hour or more before getting into the local town itself.
Vilamoura itself was cashing in on the Marina and was extremely expensive.
Having said this once you knew what you were up against you trimmed your holiday to suit and to be honest we had a great time.The local Fish was fantastic and varied."
Top Tip:
"1. YOU MUST hire a car or scooter, do not use local transport other than Taxis. Taxis must be booked well in advance, especially Fri, Sat and Sun evenings.
2. Do all your shopping out of the main resort, fruit can be purchased anywhere along the N125 (East and West) from the locals.
3. If you can, use a map and do all your own "tours", its far better than orginised tours and you can spend a lot more time exploring the local sights.
4. If your fed up with Sand and Sea, take a trip inland and visit Loule, they have a fantastic local produce market right in the middle of town, Further into the mountains there are some wounderfull old and local villages to visit.

Final tip....get out and explore the region, there is so much to see and do."

This golf resort has modern facilities and is ideal for exploring the Algarve area of Portugal. Courtesy Golf transfer to all Vilamoura Golf Courses. The resort comprises of 37 apartments and studios and also has 2 bars with one being a poolside bar. In addition, the hotel is air-conditioned and provides a hotel safe, 24-hour reception, a café, a mini market, a restaurant, 2 bars, a car park and a children's play area. For an additional fee guests can use the hotel room and laundry services and hire bicycles.
