"we stayed at 3 hotels within 30 miles of Lisbon; and the one we liked best was by the sea in Estoril. It was friendly. attractive and comfortable, except for the old bed spreads which made us sneeze! The showers were not very warm on our floor, but we used the ones by the indoor swimming pool. nice jacuzzi too. Good train service to Lisbon. Our next hotel (Atlantis Sintra) had friendly staff, nice food and comfortable beds, and a slightly worse for wear mini golf course, also interesting decor. It is about ten minutes drive away from Sintra and a beautiful national park. What is not mentioned on the website is that it is next to a main motorway and a motordrome for speed racing, which began at 8am most days. The last hotel we chose from a local tourism centre in Setubal, a 4 star called Solaris. Very welcoming, attractive and the most comfortable beds. Cheap mini bar in fridge!"

"Re ACM/1083445 Vila Gale Village in Cascais Portugal We would highly recommend Vile Gale as an excellent value 4* hotel. The breakfast buffet was a great start to the day, the staff went out of their way to gain feedback on satisfaction level and the location was a lovely 10 minute walk from downtown. Rooms were very large and most had balconies. The only thing missing was a gym. Cascais was a great location base to take the train to Lisbon or travel the coast north to Sintra. Highly recommend!"
