"The room was clean and had all the necessary facilities, but noise travelled from neighbouring bathrooms. As expected the view from the bedroom was not great, looking out over the internal courtyard car park. (Some of the upper bedrooms may have better views) The staff were friendly and helpful."

"Tastefully decorated and clean rooms. Very good buffet breakfasts. Only two minor gripes. Charge of 10 euros for one week's use of safe in room. Only two English channels (both news) on the television."

"overall very nice - excellent standard of hotel for the price (had worse rooms at twice the price) all staff excellent - very friendly and helpful - a few caveats though (1) hotel is miles out in the suburbs of funchal and road is NOT safe to walk on - buses/lorrys/sharp bends and no pavements - so you are beholden to the very limited service of the hotel courtesy bus - or public buses (€2 per trip, per person) - or very expensive taxis - or hire a car (2) jacuzzi broken all week when I asked it had taken 1 week to get an engineer out, then 1 more week to get the right part (3) currently very noisy - building works going on all day from 8am - new reception area being built - should be finised about mid december 08."
