"Nice location. Reception staff are friendly and speak English. Our room was on the corner with a good views over both the pleasant beach and marina. The hotel has a slightly run down feel to it with discarded poolside furniture lying around in the small unkempt grounds and grimy looking furniture on our balcony. Breakfast is disappointing - minimal, with scambled egg you need to carve and a daily search for crockery etc., usually with no staff around. We didn't bother trying other meals here but there are good alternatives nearby. The hotel is next to a small beachfront water park - good for kids, but it's also quiet and not a problem if you're not interested in that sort of thing. Despite the reservations, this is a good base from which to explore the rest of the island. A hire car is a good idea but we also used the bus to get in and out of Ponta Delgada."

"I suffered from an upset stomach whilst there, having eaten in the restaurant the previous evening. The rooms were not as spacious as I had expected. The hotel was a little dated."
