"Although in need of some refurbishment, our room was quiet, very clean and had a wonderful view. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Everywhere was spotlessly clean."

"The only reason I rated it average was the fact that the hotel needs a makeover; there is a lot of peeling paint outside and in. As far as the service was concerned, it was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble; the hotel was clean; the food was more than adequate and the staff made us feel really welcome. The hotel itself, being on the outskirts of Funchal was in a quiet position, so getting a good nights sleep was no problem."

"This is a well run nice hotel, the staff are all courteous and will respond to any requests you may have to make your stay enjoyable. We stayed half board and the meals were always excellent at breakfast and dinner with a wide choice always on offer.
The hotel itself was clean and well kept and the pool and health club area was cleaned everyday, by Romano the pool attendant, who is on duty from 9.00am - 6.00pm. This man made our holiday so much better, it is an honour for him if you use the pool area, he cannot do enough for you, and he speaks excellent English and his knowledge of Madeira is first class. If you want to know anything just ask him he is only to willing to help.
The only problem we encountered during our stay was the courtesy bus into Funchal that the hotel provides, as the hotel belongs to a group of three hotels, our hotel was always last for picking up. Hence the bus was always full on arrival and you cannot get on, after two days of this we complained to the manager and made some suggestions to him to rectify the problem, which he has taken on board and will try to get implemented.
Would we visit again ? Try and stop us.
As a point of interest we were informed that the hotel will close in October of this year for three months for a complete refurbrishment. This will only enhance this delightful hotel"

"Nice location, good room, very helpful and friendly staff. Food OK but this was our only question mark, prehaps its just our taste but found that while there was a varied choice on a couple of days our own taste limited the main course to one, particularly if you are not great fish eaters."

"Just what can I say except EXCELLENT. This hotel was second to none and from the moment we entered the beautiful reception to be greeted be a charming receptionist who quickly summoned a concierge to take our bags to our room, the staff were brilliant nothing was too much trouble. The food was fabulous , cleanliness superb and hotel entertainment was pleasant. We will certainly return to this hotel and we highly recommend it."
